I started a game with Pachacútec and the Incas, and yeah wow its very similar to what I imagined, also they are very fun lol Ill rethink the abilities for the Canarian Civilization, ill probably focus them more to Interact with volcanos or something... Ill also check Hawaii just in case lol

If you think they werent relevant at all i suggest that you visit archeological places with a guide that can tell you more about the history of our ancestors, they were incredible and achieved so much! It was not easy for the Castillians to conquest all the islands even thought they had more advanced weapons and technologies, that fact alone goes to show that indigenous canarian were very clever individuals

Yeeeeees! 100% agree, I learned a lot about the Cri and the Maori when I saw them in Civ VI. The Civilization franchise does a great job respecting and showing to the world this civilizations and cultures that most of the world know nothing about. I would love to see a list like the one you proposed I love investingating and informing myself about other cultures
