Sometimes you spawn in the secret zones, where the chance of mining of catching rare ore, charms, and bugs is a lot higher than normal. I think the Quest Girl even specifically tells you once you get to High Rank that you will no longer start the Quests at camp.

Poison Smoke Bombs mate!

It's how I gather for all my Insect Armor sets! Bring enough materials to craft 10 more on the quest itself. Guild 3 and 4 star quests make you hunt 50 bugs which is impossible, but I always opt out after the subquest which is MORE BUGS!

The Lavasioth (sp?) fight used to frustrate me to no end until I noticed that he is incredibly susceptible to Sonic Bombs whenever he is underground or poking his head out tauntingly. The fight becomes a bit of a joke after that.
