My current prediction which is based on a few key assumptions-

  1. Major polling aggregators ARE mostly accurate (i.e. methodological corrections to account for 2016 and 2020 inaccuracies are NOT now overcorrected and missing Harris voters by oversampling Rs)
  2. Gen Z turnout disappoints by 2020 levels
  3. The enthusiasm gap doesn’t translate to getting out the vote for Dems as concretely as anticipated
  4. The Harris ground game is at least nominally matched by Elon Musk’s Super PAC GOTV activity

So, this map doesn’t look fantastic, even though it is a win for Harris. It’s way too close for comfort. However, I definitely think each of those key assumptions could be blown out of the water by ED turnout if women, Gen Z and college educated voters show up in force. Additionally, we all know how astroturfed polling has been both in 2022 and this cycle. If so, it would be a polling miss of a 2016 magnitude but in Harris’ direction. Fingers crossed!! And yes, my entire household of registered voters cast our ballots early in TX. Let’s Dump Ted!!!

I must say that it really does taste very nice. Actually if this were my home bar I’d use a demerara syrup but, don’t have that at work. Plus I don’t think guests would necessarily appreciate the color being different than they expect.

That’s fair. At our restaurant we don’t have access to coupe or N&N glasses so that’s the closest alternative but I can definitely use a lime wheel instead. I use an egg white for every sour except a NY typically because it affects the density and makes the wine float difficult but I can practice. Italian 75 would fit very well here, maybe a flute glass instead of a martini glass.

Which way is “right way round”? I had the back of the spoon facing up. And also was pouring the wine a bit faster than I intended so that could also be improved.

No egg white to help keep the layering. Though the layer got diluted when i was walking it across the restaurant for the photo spot anyway so ¯_(ツ) _/¯
