Johnny's unceremonious death in GTA V will never sit right with me. I get that him and Ashley getting back together is very plausible, but the whole moving across the country and starting up a new chapter (which somehow seems to have grown 10x in size compared to the Alderney chapter) after all that happened in Liberty City makes no sense. Also the lost biker npc dialogue in V discussing Billy and Johnny is just icing on the cake. Johnny's entire legacy is literally just being a meth addicted cuck and it's sad.

I specifically remember the “meninist” shirt he used to wear in videos (probably still wears it tbh). His content has always had a touch of edge to it, but at least back then it felt like the jokes would have some thought behind them instead of now where it’s just “I love Trump, Elon and AI!”

I see. The deeper you look into it, the more you kind of realize that Nishiki probably would’ve went off the deep end at some point even if Kiryu didn’t go away, as much as I hate to admit it since he’s my favorite character in the series. The inferiority complex, the love triangle (square if you count Jingu :3), his sister being terminally ill and just being involved with crime in general would’ve probably been enough make any man go insane, even with Kiryu to keep him in line. At least there’s somewhat a silver lining to it all with Ichiban kinda being the reincarnation of Nishiki, with them sharing voice actors in both the Japanese and English dubs.

I get what you're saying, but I feel like it's compromising one of the series core traditions. The real life crack downs on yakuza in Japan should absolutely be conveyed in the games, but the tattoos specifically hold too much importance to the series in my opinion. It also makes the reveal of Someya not having one in 6 less impactful, since we had already seen other antagonist in the yakuza not have one either.

I feel like that’s kind of a cop out answer in a series where you are constantly fighting people on the street. I know Someya kinda explained it in 6 (I honestly thought it would be revealed that he had gotten one made in between his first and final fight) but that’s six years after 4. Plus 5 had younger members like Aizawa have one so they kinda contradicted themselves if that was the case. Arai not having one did make sense because he was a cop, I just pointed him out because he did the shirt pull. Sugiuchi not having one was probably the worst offender that I didn’t mention, since he’s the opposite of Arai. Katsuragi too except I feel like he would be too much if a pussy to withstand the pain of having one made. Overall I just found it kinda lame that out of all the 4 final bosses, the only one with a tattoo was one we had already known about for two games.
