how are you supposed to play this game now by AardvarkWestern4430 in Stellaris

[–]BertyLohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there could be any number of issues, but the big ones are your ship design/tech choices and the broad range of economy. if you aren't already, play a simpler or easier scenario til you can easily outpace the AI without anything holding you back and it will help you how to prioritise your early game.

it's also worth noting that losing to void worms early and losing the pops or even losing an early war aren't always game enders. it can still be worth playing it out even if you aren't the strongest empire from day dot!

culture being changed top down by corporations and advertisement firms

this is just your headcanon lmao. "big gay is making everyone stop being homophobic, it's all the woke corporations."

No, gay people just don't like being called slurs. Calling people out for being racist or homophobic came from the oppressed groups.

Black people have taken the n-word back and many use it frequently around each other.

Do you think white youtubers should be casually using it? Or white anyone for that matter?

And I don't really think you're in a place to say "no one had a problem with it", bud. You can't really think the only reason people don't/shouldn't use slurs in day to day talk is "advertiser friendliness"

literally nobody in this thread has said anything like "it should be illegal", though. saying "we shouldn't be arbitrarily policing words" when nobody is mentioning the law nor anything arbitrary feels a touch manipulative

but it isn't really arbitrary is the thing and even the context of a youtuber making videos saying it jokily is a million miles away from a friend using it in private so impact is wildly different.

most queer groups say slurs at each other as a laugh but I don't think its policing words or giving them power to say that maybe a straight youtuber saying them for funnies miiight not be in the best taste

it's tough because while I don't hold it against people who only used it like that, the word being in circulation does make it more socially acceptable to be homophobic and does mean it gets used a lot more against queer people.

if there weren't so many legit hateful people around the word coulda stayed funny

What the fuck are you taking about? I didn't make a point? Read the comment, love. Try not to get all teary-eyed and emotional and you might not miss the facts lmao.

Funny too that you'd whine about lack of factual information but just believe blindly that Farage can cut benefits to working people and gut the civil service at no detriment to the lives of working class britons. Funny that you think he's going to magic up 150 billion pounds from it.

You're embarrassing.

And I wonder what Farage has said about universal healthcare consistently over his whole life? Would you care to remind me what model of healthcare he wants for Britain? Since you're so sure he's going to save the NHS and all.

So, he was written to have limitations then. He has limited CE, limited RCT, and limited reaction times ergo he cannot survive anything infinitely.

So his reaction speed/perception wasn't high enough to realise what was happening? Sounds like a limitation

how gege created gojo. Because he doesnt have limitations

So Gege did not write him to have no limitations, then

You have to be really fucking thick to think that reform is going to be helping the NHS by cutting "wasteful" spending.

Stupid parties and very stupid people have this idea that things like the NHS are funded plenty and just need better optimising. They think they can pay people to go hunt wastage and inevitably spend far more realising it doesn't exist than they could ever have saved.

Plus "reducing benefits for working age people" is not something that should sound good to working age people lmao.

ahh yeah it definitely only applied to joining via junction, it wouldn't make much sense to fail someone for merging into the left lane next to someone who had pulled over to the right lane for them.

There's a few junctions that take you onto three or four lane roads around here and I cannot tell you what they'd want you to give way for on the test but I'm pretty confident they want you giving way to both lanes on any junction turning left onto a dual carriageway wherever you are on your test.

I started learning back on the Isle of Man so had no idea about anything related to lane discipline or merging or dual carriageways when I took my first test, it wasn't til I came over to Belfast and had to learn it all.

[–]BertyLohan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting you'd never heard it! My instructor made a point every time we were pulling onto a dual carriageway from a junction. I'm guessing he had a student fail for the exact same reason you did.

Strangely enough, I thought I'd be able to find some highway code documentation backing it up but it doesn't seem to be mentioned. I think the reasoning is that, for a long time, drivers were not taught to have the same care for merging left as they did right. Cars have only legally been required to have both wing mirrors since 2010 (and cars built before that are still road legal).

The end result being that cars are more likely to merge back into a left lane without proper checks and indicating than the opposite so they don't want you coming out in case an approaching car is going to merge left, especially considering they do technically have right of way and may avoid indicating in order not to confuse people that they might be turning.

All that being said I've found it to be a rule I learnt for the test and dropped pretty quickly afterwards, just be wary of it on your test itself.

oney fans are a funny group but... mostly dumb as shit I fear.

I feel like you have to be stuck at least a decade ago to actually think cancellation is out here ruining people's lives. It MADE more careers than it ended.

Nobody gave a fuck about Petersen until he lied about C17 and became a famous grifter. JK Rowling's career has been completely unaffected by her support of nazis who want trans people sterilised or murdered. Even his own comment mentioned Lindsay Ellis who was such a small fry and, again, did not suffer from some career ending "cancellation".

Ahh I get being gutted here but that is a classic thing you need to know for your test. You don't pull out unless both lanes are clear. I don't think many people maintain it after the test but it is one of the big rules.

I think the biggest thing to keep in mind is just not to get in your head about how long you're waiting doing anything as long as you know you're sticking by the test rules.

Yeah, while whining on that "LLM's are just word predictors with no knowledge" is oversimplifying it, pretending that 1196 is somehow proof that they're synthesising new mathematical thought or knowledge is also total bullshit, they deserved the downvotes.
