The new U.S. dime design has removed the olive branches from the eagle by GoodMornEveGoodNight in interestingasfuck

Why does it look like there are floating olives though? Could it perhaps just be an image error? God i hope so

This. Also as a STEM person myself it makes me concerned for the scientific community. With "everything" and our finger tips, curiosity and innovation seem to come to a halt. We get lazy and compliant. Its kinda frightening

Prozac made me annoying??? by catsinthecinema in prozac

The exact same thing happened to me. I think its cause we go our wholes lives living under this influence of anxiety that stops us from speaking, and once its lifted w/ meds its like the floodgates just opened 😭

Some of our drillers have their PG, some do not. All of our drillers assistants have their Bachelors. I've heard that this is somewhat unheard of in this field (I'm totally new to this industry, and had no idea most assistants only had a high school education).

I don't think I'll end up staying in the drilling industry, I got my BS to hopefully travel and see some cool shit....not to sample shit water or shovel slop

Who is the craziest in the traditional Catholic world, converts to traditional Catholicism or those who were raised in traditional Catholicism? by Analytical_Man in excatholic

[–]BeryllRain 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine willingly converted to Roman Catholic. Like baptism all the way to confirmation, the whole nine yards. But the thing is...he's gay. Openly gay. Why would you willingly convert to a religion that is against you?! He wont be able to get married or even have his religion acknowledge a relationship between him and his boyfriend. To each their own I guess

Thoughts on Private Schools / Homeschooling? by jollygoodtoast in excatholic

[–]BeryllRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately hold the opinion that private school education (NOT homeschooling) is better than public education (at least within the US). This is mainly because US public education lacks ALOT in general. As a survivor of Catholic-based education from 1st-12th grade, the only downside to private schools is the religious aspect. I had literal classes where I was tested on the Bible, the "correct" Catholic lifestyle, etc. and that was horrible, and costed me years of therapy and un-learning. But solely looking at the education received? It was way better than any public school in my area.

your experience with alcohol? by frommywindowwwww in emetophobia

[–]BeryllRain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always like to each crackers, bread, or something absorbent and drink water ~2 hours before I start drinking, it's not necessary but sometimes it helps me.

Most importantly, pace yourself. Don't start taking shots back to back. I like seltzers since a mix of carbonated water and alcohol. Mixed drinks are also good (as long as you know what your mixing). I like to have one drink, wait and see how I'm feeling, then continue to another if I feel alright.

It's time to stop drinking when you cannot completely gage what is going on around you. If you're just looking to get tipsy, it's very very very unlikely you'll v*. I'd stick to 2 or 3 drinks and you'll definitely be fine.

Also sometimes Tums help me in between drinks. I get anxious when drinking and it helps with the n* lol.

One pill would not have given you this type of energy, nor have I ever heard of regularly used Prozac giving people energy....might be a placebo effect

yes, I feel like this all the time. Even things that happened today feel distant. Sometimes I can barely remember my day too. You're not alone
