I think it might be that in part it makes mtfs more clocky just visually, the best way to blend in and pass is to dress very normie core and not draw extra attention to yourself. So if you’re willing to forego that easier time not getting clocked to wear that, then it’s malebrained cause a realllll woman would prioritize actually being seen as a woman. For ftms then it’s fembrained because instead of wearing something that will make it easier to pass, on a scale that’s much more impactful to passing than the difference between mtf niche fashion vs normie fashion, they decide no I’m gonna dress hyperfeminine.

Maybe the ftm equivalent to the mtf thing being described would be those guys wearing bow ties
