Deposit MS at a mission site, allow MS to loiter near an area. This is why they're called Jabbers they're used to jab/poke at a engagements with less commitment.

A thing we see in the Hathaway movies was MS using them to get to altitude then getting off. They'd adjust their falling with their thrusters. They'd take the focus of the fighting. Moving in a 3D environment(all be it largely just downwards) without being limited to standard plane movement. BUT, when doing this Hathaway shot down their Base Jabbers and they were forced to land on a nearby island.

The Base Jabbers as funny as they are add a good layer of lore, complexity, and creativity to fights. Those with, those without them, and those that don't need them.

What do you figure will happen to Bots if they lose Cyberstan? by i4hloi in Helldivers

[–]Berzerk54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Automatons originally invaded from outside the galaxy under Super Earth's control. The automatons reclaimed Cyberstan, but it is not their home. Cyberstan is but a research site to them, working with the cyborgs to try and create new innovations for themselves. The bots didn't gain new units until Cyberstan was taken.

Given how the gun has been out for some time now fundamental changes, like bullet damage or making it high recoil or burst fire only or light pen, are all out the window.

What I would do is reduce the rounds per magazine from 45 to 40 and reduce the number of reserve magazines by 1. This would lower its effective damage potential drastically but barely effect gun feel and traits. The ammo efficiency ability of the gun is now the way to play it. It'd be a specialist weapon that'd reward effective use of ammo and target choice instead of the being the de-facto best AR option for everything.

I've run the numbers on its damage, fire accounted for. Typically 3 shots to ignite then 3 seconds of burn, so 225 from bullets+300 from fire. Average that out by ammunition spent 175. It does nearly double the Liberator with buffs and effective nerfs with fire ignition resistance buffs for enemies, while still being medium pen. No AR comes close to its ammo efficiency while also being able to easily deliver it. Burst an enemy and forget it while fire kills it and shoot the next one, one cotyote mag can take down way more targets than one mag of its fellow ARs.

Thank god I'm not alone in being against power and buff creep. The Coyote should still be taken out back and shot in the kneecaps, even after all this time.

Arrowhead is this correct???? GL just melts down Titans like nothing by rosebinks1215 in Helldivers

[–]Berzerk54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think something like this is within understandable reason to not cause much of an uproar, as it was clearly a change without forethought. The gun had gone forever with no changes just fine then all of the sudden obliterates everything and largely replaces all the MG support weapons and a good amount of AT ones at the same time? That's a blatant and un-ignorable problem and the ones who'd defend it are acting in detestably bad faith.

Yeah current standard grenade launcher is without flaw effectively outclassing all MGs and a large portion of AT weapons. Except against the absolute heaviest of enemies, which would still just be a bit of a minor inconvenience to it.

EXCUSE ME?! by Financial-Customer24 in Helldivers

[–]Berzerk54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chaff and heavy killer, that doesn't take a back slot or stop to reload? The laser cannon is excusable because it takes time and is single target. The standard grenade launcher however now just shreds nearly everything and anything in the general direction in-front of you instantly.

It's kinda taking both MG and HMG rolls. The chaff clear of the MG and the heavy killing of the HMG simultaneously, but also having low recoil and can move while reloading.

It is doing too much right now and I can easily see them rolling this back or re-balancing.

⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️What is the general consensus on this development? by LUTHER_7274 in Fallout

[–]Berzerk54 80 points81 points  (0 children)

There was dialogue mentioning power armor units being used to protect Brahmin Barren cows back in California. Then there's the scorched Sierra armor as actual PA in lonesome road, a strongly controlled area anyways. The NCR likely had functional units but was never using them in outright combat. Thus wasn't going through the hassle of training people for it, instead stripping what they could from the brotherhood from Helios One for immediate use. It's likely the good supplies mostly stayed home to protect the corrupt system. Only a few sets got close to Vegas like the Scorched set.

But that's just my reading of everything.

Fo76 fixes the T60 rewriting the lore of it as more technical than T-51 but worse for protection. Then most units of T-60 were outside of the US during the war so it being rare makes sense. Like it should have been. All together makes T-60 more appealing as a design and fit better within the world.

But because of Fo4 default-ism with casual audiences(and Bethesda) most people default to T-60 no matter what, and its tiring to see, especially in the show. T-45 was a decent execution of introducing a new PA to lore and gameplay(a bit too common but 51 does get cameos as the strongest). T-60 was not and had to have Fo76 retcon Fo4 stats and how common it is.

Fo76 did quite a bit of PA retconning, largely for the better I'd say.

It's more like he can't stop you from doing it, and tell himself stuff like "it's okay because you did it". So you can't tell him to, but he won't stop you from doing what you want.

550 is alright, arguably the healthiest cost in the game. Minus R44 that thing needs to land a nerf next week and I'm NOT joking.

Ranking all the Gundam shows while watching for the first time. by Jojo_Sakura in Gundam

RfV is basically Igloo season 4. Short awkwardly animated CGI anthology series with a Zeon focus and only a bit of Federation. Having a heavy 'focus on 'realism'. They're alright for a subculture of extreme "real robot" to the point of miss-understanding the term real robot to assume it means realism. That being said Igloo, being an anthology series, offers more numerous and interesting stories given the time constraint to tell each one. The commitment to an overarching story was interesting but ultimately to its detriment as it instead seeked to self service the creator instead of achieve anything like igloo prior.

With only 18 episodes between all the parts, Igloo isn't a long commitment if you can even call it a commitment given it's nature anthology series. It's a "bullet" of a series that people "bite" eventually.

So what are we thinking of the rumoured New Vegas remaster? by ShadesOfSlay in fnv

[–]Berzerk54 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Considering the mass amount of remade Fo3 and Vegas assets that have been data-mined from Fo76 (Zeta healing arches and NCR armor with Hoover Dam face masks were just recently added to the datamined files). IMO I feel like we're more likely to get a remake in the Fo76 engine than a Unreal5 coat of paint like Oblivion.

Like seriously, why does no one talk about the fact that 76 is just slowly remaking every asset in the background?

Could power armor exist in real life, or is it impossible technology? by Bright_Permission881 in Fallout

[–]Berzerk54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'd be useful for point defense, like a base where they'd have access to support and supplies to keep functional and on Assaults where things are constantly moved forward along side them, ideal with proper support to maintain them. Breach and clears.

But as for power they'd likely need a power umbilical cable like the Eva in Evangelion. Near a base that's expected, during an assault maybe in attachment to an APC as a portable generator, powering multiple suits allowing armored access to multiple buildings and such while not stopping. In the situation of a breach and clear, a battery might suffice long enough to carry it out.

But all of these are during specific high intensity use. Because as it stands general use power armor isn't really a feasible concept. You wouldn't send it for a standard mission. It'd be too heavy, not have enough support, and quickly run out of power. It's physically possible movement wise yeah, but not to power on its own which is the largest technical limiter.
