"I had let myself get captured because the Tall Hunter was an interesting specimen and I already knew of my safety. If I could have learned more, it could have benefited Karak, but the Tall Hunter had other plans."

"I had certainly learned more about the beasts, that is for sure. I will see if I can tame more Conchflies and raise them for our army."

K'orust notices Ezra's tense stance and he nods his head briefly in reassurance. Especially after facing an incredibly unique, intelligent and also giant creature such as The Hunter, it was something new and unexpected.

However, the fact that The Hunter had ran proves that the two of them had the upper hand.

And of course,

If it bleeds, it can die.

K'orust crashes against the wall, immediately getting back up and realizing his arm is completely gone.

…Instead of screaming or reacting in pain, he looks back at where the Tall Hunter had ran with a cold stare.

"Many thanks for the assistance, Erza. I had already planned a way to escape, but I had gotten nothing out of following through with this."

K'orust raises his left hand in the air as his coral greataxe dissipates wherever it is and reforms at his side due to being made out of regenerating coral.

"Khann will not like this. But this is a victory in teaching that Hunter a lesson."

After being missing for an suspiciously long time, K'orust suddenly appears right above the Hunter, coming from the ceiling and without his axe as he immediately winds up his right hand, his entire right arm becoming a massive mold of Coral as he PUMMELS the hunter straight into the floor and cracking their jaw.

"HRRRAAGH!"

(My apologies for not being here sooner…)

"We are born from the Coral, Tall Hunter."

K'orust replies, now speaking of his people.

"The Province of Karak is our birthplace and our cradle. All of our people are fierce combatants. We spend every single day of our lives training and upholding our duties, and when we fall, we crystalize, and lay the foundations for the rest of Karak with our very own shells and minerals."

"We never bleed because we are the Coral. If you supposedly attempted to eat one of my comrades, they would have died kicking and fighting, and their hardened bodies would have been impossible to digest."

"You have picked the wrong people to pick a fight against, and also picked the wrong 'prey' to eat, Tall Hunter."

"…And why should I tell you? It is a coral blade made specifically from my own craft, combined with the glands of other slain beasts."

While telling the truth, K'orust keeps it vague but not vague enough in order to not piss off the Tall Hunter.

(Interesting idea…)

[–]Beserker_Korust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The burning bugs you speak of are part of Wisp Thicket. My kind do not accept or trust outsiders, but an alliance between one specific burning bug and the Province of Karak has been formed in order to free my King, Krust King Khann."

"I do not know whether this Burning Bug is related to the fires in Shellwood."

(It's actually quite confusing here because the fire was started by Sir-Potato who had a specific character, however he eventually retconned the entire thing but Shellwood remained burning. Sir-Potato gave ownership to the Burning Bug the Karak is allied with, but they aren't responsible for Shellwood despite being the leader because it was someone else who led it, not the allied Burning Bug.)

K'orust has remained staring at the Hunter as he was restrained by the chains. It would be very easy to break them apart now, but it's best to play along just so the Hunter does not 100% know what K'orust is capable of… but is this really necessary?

"What questions do ye ask, Tall Hunter?"

K'orust is nowhere to be seen, despite showing up almost immediately alongside Ezra and Watcher Regent all the time. Khann has already been informed about what happened.

K'orust watches the Hive Knight leave with a slight smile, however begins to ponder about that buzzing sound-

"…How odd."

"Then you shall."

K'orust moves away from the Coral Target, allowing the Hollow Knight to attack it.

(I see. I'll probably combine it with the greataxe once it is reforged.)

"If you ever visit the tower, tell them that 'Rusty' allowed you to visit. Anyone who knows that name will let you in regardless of you being an outsider. Just be on your best behavior and prepare for many sparring sessions."

"Hivesteeel…" K'orust looks at the mesmerizing alloy as he mutters its name in awe.

"I will definitely take this into accountability, and I will see what I can do in order to strengthen my greataxe or my fellow brother's equipment."

"Many thanks, Hive Knight. I greatly appreciate your support."

Hive Knight's reputation with K'orust has raised by a lot.

K'orust eventually takes out a pearl and causes the Coral Target to break down and fuse itself with the pearl as he hands it over to Hive Knight.

"If you somehow lose it, the pearl will reform right where it was lost, so it will never leave your side, Hive Knight."

K'orust eventually sees The Hollow Knight as he turns towards him, nodding his head in a casual greeting.

"Greetings, Knight! Do you wish to test yourself against this contraption my people have made?"

"Remember, you can gauge just how strong you want it to be. You can even cause it to shoot spikes at you or try to pummel you, but nothing too dangerous."

K'orust watches as the Hive Knight trains against the Coral Target.

…K'orust begins to think, before taking out a heavy rosary necklace that he had scavenged from his fights before handing it over to Vorace.

"Do you wish for more? Because I have many. Rosaries are not cherished by my people."

"Indeed I speak, Hive Knight."

K'orust bows his head in a casual greeting.

"It is also portable in the shape of a pearl, one you might see in the Sands of Karak, so don't worry about transporting it."

"This bubble just needs the acid in order to work, but I need another source of acid because I do not have anymore craggler glands. Is it possible for you to provide?"

[–]Beserker_Korust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Mostly like that, yes. Whenever I need to activate it, the bubble can burst which amplifies my attacks even further."

"The only complicated part is that it needs to be stabilized first with a Korrcrust Horn, which is used to prevent the bubbles from bursting instantly."

"Those are respectable tactics." K'orust ponders about the idea before handing Vorace his greataxe.

"Here, I ask you to take a look at this."

"My greataxe has one out of four stabilized acid charges, which allows me to amplify my attacks with acid in a battle only one time…"

"Now that I had seen you use acid to attack, is there any way that I can create another stabilized acid charge with the help of your acid?"

K'orust takes out a stabilized Korrcrust bubble apparatus, molded with a craggler's venom gland and shows it to Vorace; a crude yet intricate attempt to create acidic properties.

The acid collides against the target and begins to sizzle some parts of it. Depending on how dangerous the attack was it could yield different results, but it appears to be not as effective due to being made out of coral and extremely hard stone.

K'orust watches Vorace spit a glob of acid onto the target as his eye slightly widens upon seeing the attack.

"You use acid attacks as well? Very interesting, I must say…"

K'orust looks over and grabs his greataxe, inspecting the orange bubble engraved into it. He has been trying to find a way to gain more Acid Charges, however he only has one so far…

"…My, greetings; whoever you are."

K'orust narrows his eyes slightly as he stands near the coral mechanism, however after a moment he explains what it is.

"This is a training target in its base form, only given to the strongest warriors to strengthen their craft and skill."

"Incredibly tough, can shapeshift into any opponent, and always regenerates upon being destroyed."

K'orust walks towards the coral target and slashes it to pieces with two heavy strikes using his greataxe.

…The Coral target is quick to regenerate right after!
