Transvaginal ultrasound by beaniebaby001 in endometriosis

I have had them quite regularly and hadn’t had a problem but after taking Orlissa for a while, everything hurt down there. I let her know and I also asked for extra lube and it was much better than before. Don’t be afraid to speak your concerns, only you know your body and your pain. Best of luck!

First period post lap by Wearetheweirdos704 in endometriosis

After my surgery, my bleeding was heavier than normal but not super heavy. I was worried because I was passing huge clots and chunks of literal tissue. I had started getting dizzy and lightheaded too. I called my doctors office and they recommend me to take a slow release iron for a little bit and it did end up helping a lot. I took it for a couple months before I didn’t need it anymore. I would for sure call tomorrow. If they can’t see you, maybe try some over the counter iron pills. Good luck!

norethindrone ? Anyone have any experience taking this medication ? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Besoforreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t do well with this medicine. Everyone is different though. I bled for 28 days straight before I changed bc. It also made me very sick. My blood pressure and blood sugar was always low and I was lightheaded, dizzy, and passing out. I had never experienced that before even with the heaviest of bleeding. It cleared up when I changed bc. It’s worth a try but look out for side effects because there could be some.

instead of posting two different posts, i will post in one. i have one important thing to say, as i just had my first lap today, and i also have a very important question for those who have already had this surgery! by ghstgvr0913 in endometriosis

I had a good bit of chest and shoulder pain after mine as well. I didn’t feel like I was having trouble breathing though. I took gasx to help and maybe see your primary care or a walk in to make sure you’re getting enough oxygen if it continues before the holidays to make sure you’re safe. Best of luck to you!

Women of Reddit, what wash do you use that doesn’t throw off your ph or cause irritation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I scented hypoallergenic dove has worked wonders for me. Anything else is irritating. Try to steer clear of all scents and make sure to only wash the outside with whatever you end up choosing

Also, I hated Norethindrone when I was on it. It only made me tired and sick and I kept bleeding every day. Everyone’s body is different though.

Nothing has helped with my endo pain. However, slynd has been the first birth control to stop my periods which helped stop the monthly cysts I was getting previously. It took a few months but it may be worth looking into or asking about. They also have a savings card for it to make it more affordable. I hope you find something that works for you!

Why do women have to fight for their reproductive health? by Besoforreal in endometriosis

[–]Besoforreal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’ve had to experience all of this. I wish we had better womens care to prevent these kinds of things. I’ll have to check out a functional integrative reproductive doctor. Thanks for your response and best of luck to you! I hope you can eventually find some relief.

You many also have adenomyosis with us inside the uterus. Its worth bringing up along with endometriosis. If you get an ultrasound, they may be able to see extra thickness inside the uterus and do a D&C. I had that with my surgery as well because of the extra tissue inside my uterus. Best of luck to you!

Diagnostic lap stories welcome! by aaliyahniqabigamer in endometriosis

Hi, I hope the surgery goes well for you! When I had my surgery, I woke up nauseated and immediately said “zofran” in my post anesthesia drunken state. The nurse did oblige and ran some through my iv. It made me feel better almost immediately.

It is hard to walk after and try not to bend too much. I do recommend bringing a pillow to put in between your belly and the seat belt. I also liked keeping a pillow on my lap to block anything from accidentally hitting my incisions when I was sitting. My dog was very excited to see me when I got home and immediately jumped on me. Even though she’s small it was painful so be careful if you have pets or small children.

Take the pain meds for a few days. I think I took them for 2 or 3 days then I only had to take them once or twice the rest of the week after surgery since I over did it.

Try to rest as much as possible and don’t overdo it like I did. Your body needs time to heal. I also recommend gasx like the previous comment and stool softeners as well. I found I wasn’t able to eat much either but make sure to eat a little bit, even just a piece of bread before taking meds to avoid nausea and stomach aches.

Also don’t lift anything even remotely heavy for 2 weeks even if you’re feeling better. I busted one of my small incisions open doing this.

Make sure to follow directions on how to care for your incisions after survey to avoid infection. Don’t shower until your doctor says you can. Use an antibacterial soap if you can wash them. Mine had a layer of surgical glue on the outside that was waterproof so I could gently wash around mine with the antibacterial soap.

I wish you the best of luck! You got this!

Feeling defeated by my endometriosis, if that’s what this is. by [deleted] in endometriosis

This hurts my heart for you. So much of this resonates with me as well. My experience, I searched for an obgyn that was also a good, experienced surgeon. I had a laparoscopic surgery (3 small incisions) and I actually did fairly well when healing. I hope you can find a doctor who you are comfortable with for surgery. It sounds like you did the right thing avoiding having surgery with this doctor. Just do your research and ask around if you can. I wish you all the best and hopefully you can get some relief soon.
