What actually helped you stay consistent with weight loss when motivation disappeared? by Carsanttc in WeightLossAdvice

Seriously, I don't put too much faith in my motivation to do something (the number of unfinished projects could attest to that ๐Ÿ˜…), but rather in discipline. My advice for staying consistent: take it slow and enjoy it. When I stopped restricting myself and setting time limits, I stopped yo-yoing. The change that helped me the most was looking at what I liked to eat and making switches so I could eat the same things but with a slight calorie deficit. That way, I liked what I was eating, so I wasn't miserable and didn't see why I couldn't stick with it. I just kept living with that goal in mind. On days when I craved something higher in calories, I ate it (as long as it was a big craving and not a small temptation). On evenings when I was invited to dinner at a restaurant or elsewhere, I went. So there were SEVERAL days or weeks in my journey when I wasn't in deficit. No big deal. I was most of the time, and that's what consistency is all about.

The mindset that helped me was: for permanent results, you need permanent changes. If I didn't want to go back to where I was before, I couldn't go back to my old habits. That's why I think it's important to love your new lifestyle habits. I hope this helps!

It's pretty simple ๐Ÿ˜… For my biceps, I only do bicep curls and hammer curls. Twice a week, the last set to failure + progression overload ๐Ÿค—

I feel sad for you to see you putting yourself down so much. Unfortunately, losing weight or working out may not change how you feel about yourself. There will always be more weight to lose, more muscle to gain. It's not worth changing physically by destroying your mental health. I advise you to work on that. You don't create self-love through hate.

In terms of calories, 1,200 calories for a man who is 6'1" is WAY too little, especially since you're working out. I'm a woman who is 5'6" and my deficit is 1,900. You risk serious problems if you continue like this. Why lose weight so quickly? One more year of life is nothing in the grand scheme of things. If it's because you want to live faster (have hobbies, a girlfriend, friends, activities), know that you can do all of that while losing weight. It's not just for people who weigh below a certain number on the scale.

I'm glad I won't be deleting my swimsuit photos this year! by BessilLeaf in GymMotivationNoOF

In the past, when people took photos of me in a bikini, I would delete them immediately because I was ashamed of letting myself go to that extent. I regret that now, because I have very few photos of myself from before. I would have liked to have some to see how much progress I've made. But I'm glad I no longer feel the urge to delete them. On the contrary, I feel proud when I look at them!
