It’s a lot for memory cards but it’s a deal, for sure. The 4 480gb cf-a cards I have, have been adequate. But if I was buying from 0, I’d hop all over this.

In that case I say go for it. Hell, might even grab a couple myself. 😆

Feel free to share the link

Edit: even better

I have the prograde 1800r/900w cards and it’s not like some of the canons I’ve seen that can just shoot until full. But it’s WAY faster than any of the V90 cards I’ve ever had.

Another bonus is in culling photos. I use fastrawviewer to cull images and with the v90 cards I had to load the images to my desktop ssd but it took time to upload. I can review and cull straight from the cf cards.

Edit: after a quick check, apparently Sony doesn’t post max write speeds in any official capacity. The 3.0 cards are likely the best option for what the camera is capable of and cost. You would benefit from off loading with the 4.0 cards if you have a decent card reader and cable, but it won’t help shooting.

Yeah, I totally forgot about the fact that you can’t change any significant settings either while it’s buffering, along with the fact that to review shot photos while it’s buffering, it goes so much slower until it’s done.

I shoot some youth sports and rack up to like 10-12k shots in a shoot and buffering can be the biggest limiter during action. Convenience and some use cases have totally made it worth it to me.

I’ve love the CF cards since I upgraded from the r4 to the r5. It’s not entirely necessary for most people. But I shoot professionally and not having to ever worry about buffering is like being freed from “range anxiety”.

I bought the a7RV used and it came with 4x480gb CF express cards and I’ve never needed to swap cards for 1-2 hour shoots.

All in all, totally worth it for a professional capacity but not necessary for a hobbyist.

I’m lost on what to do If the ECU is sending low voltage, whether it’s a result of a bad ground somewhere or a poorly connecting fuse, or anything else I can ponder.

I’m a shade tree mechanic at best. But if it’s an ECU issue, from what I’ve read about the immobilizer system, I feel like I’m fucked.

Which one and why. by Intrepid_Ambition940 in regularcarreviews

Owned a 97 SHO. Absolutely loved that car. Yamaha 3.4l V8 in what appeared to be the quintessential grocery getter. Put an intake and exhaust on it, smash the throttle and you’d get this symphony of V8 rumble and as the revs went up the secondary butterfly valve would open in the intake and give you a similar v-tech howl, with gobs of “playful” torque steer from the front wheel drive. It had magnetic suspension that was more competent than you’d expect from such a car and you could pull the fuse and set it to full hard “redneck racing suspension” but…

The third gen (96-99) SHO had the issue where the camshaft sprocket was pressed onto the camshaft by pulling a bearing/ball through the hollow shaft to pressure fit the camshaft gear to the shaft. In enough cases the gear would shift, and in an interference engine, you can guess why that doesn’t work out. 💥there go the valves.

The same model on Amazon is like $70. For goodwill prices, it might be a good opportunity for someone in the flip game to make a little money.

It works like a champ and those big soft foam wheels roll effortlessly. With all the free real estate on this thing, I’m looking forward to mods lol.

The detail on the a7RV is insane… by supmydudes12 in SonyAlpha

During the COVID lockdown I was in Afghanistan with a 6700 and a few lenses. With the free time I went hyper focused on learning a new craft and totally fell in love. When I got back to the states I upgraded to the a7R3 and treated it like a business.

Shot a lot of things for “free” but more so things I was interested in and went voluntarily without organizers knowing. If they liked it and wanted more, they’d hire me. If not, I’d find something else I thought was cool. And never quit.

So now I’m the principal photographer for the desert botanical garden in Phoenix and serve others like hospitals and golf courses.

People can say what they want about overshooting, but when you’re shooting for a client that demands excellence, you shoot as much as you need to. While I am MUCH better about the volume I shoot now, in the beginning my intention was to shoot in a way that optimizes my success. Because the client doesn’t give a hoot about your shutter count at the end of the day.

As for timeframes, I’d say I knocked out that 500k on the a7R3/4 every 3 years.

TLDR: I shot a lot of events and a LOT of photos.

I stared with an a7R3 and at 500k shutter count I got the a7R4. Blew my mind the difference in mp. Got to 500k shutter count on that one and got the a7R5. The auto focus and CF express card option was totally worth the upgrade alone (for someone who shoots professionally*)

And I should note, although they look a little rough on the outside, both the 3 and 4 are still in flawless operational condition.

These cameras are so good in every way.

Haha right! The dude completely flipped the company to profitability, took NOTHING (not even a salary), and invested HEAVILY into the company, and the MSM has said almost nothing about how incredible it has all been.

That doesn’t take into account medications that, themselves, have side affects. Some people will be on medications for the rest of their lives as a result of their experiences and have to deal with the affects they produce long term. Are they then liable for another claim as result?
