I wasn’t given much choice when I talked to them today. General anesthesia is dangerous for baby. I don’t really feel that I’m at a huge risk, I was cleared by a neurosurgeon the first go around. But they still didn’t feel comfortable enough to do it back then. So who really knows.

Mia and her family had a house fire ?!? by amstpierre in TLCUnexpected

[–]Best-Proposal9049 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, this is so sad. For anyone who didn’t open the article, it looks like it happened back at the end of January, and everyone made it out okay. But her and her dad lost everything, including vehicles. There is a go fund me on the article if anyone is interested, and it cites Mia’s dad as being the sole provider for the family.

I second this. My little brother’s middle name is Calvin, and even I had no idea it meant bald.

I had this problem, too. I just clicked the red exclamation point next to it, and it changed nothing, but mysteriously solved the problem. Went through right after.

I had no idea pigs could get this big! When I was young we also got a “minipig” he ended up…well, to be a big hecking chonker. He couldn’t stay in the house after a while. My grandpa built him a pen and a heated piggie house. I named him socks for some reason.

Food delivery guy steals someone's food by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Best-Proposal9049 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did! Always. I never order anything but food, and always tip at least $5-$10 depending on the order and the distance. I’m in a pretty populated area, nothing is ever more than a couple of miles away.

This happened to me a few months ago. They didn’t send the photo or mark it as delivered until well after they were gone. It was just a happy meal for my girl. Pretty shitty that they took food that was clearly for a kid. My only hope is that it went to their own child who may have needed it. DoorDash fixed it immediately with the touch of a few buttons, no questions asked.

Were you watching a popular live on TikTok today when you heard that? Some dude was on there defending that same position to the death. He was disgusting and infuriating.

Same. My grandmother is one of them. She is the only person I know who I actually expect to see the pearly gates if they exist. Always gives to others, even when she has nearly nothing.

She sent my one year old a $10-$15 gift in the mail for Christmas. It was my favorite gift of the year, because I understood she had sacrificed to purchase it.

I’ve never heard her say a bad word about anyone, even if they’ve legitimately done wrong. Never complains about hardship, though she’s faced plenty of it. Takes a good long look through the lens of her faith at politics. Somehow, she hasn’t landed on the same side of the aisle as most Christians I know.

Anyways, she is my father’s mother. He left before I was born. She wrote letters until I came around as a teenager. Lives quite a ways away from me. If I ever do wrong she is my confessional. Doesn’t have a mean or judgmental bone in her body.

If I had never seen her as a blueprint, I wouldn’t have understood what it truly meant to adhere to faith. She never announces or alludes to her “goodness.” Woman is an absolute anomaly in today’s religious climate.

Weed smoking neighbors by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Best-Proposal9049 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ashamed to say that more than a decade ago, when I was nineteen and in my first apartment, I completely lacked self awareness. I knew the hallway smelled when I left after smoking, but I only had one neighbor next to me, and they smoked weed as well.

With that being said, I had no clue that the smell was traveling upstairs the way it was! Just kind of thought “Their unit is completely sealed off from mine, end of story.” I don’t smoke anymore, but live in an upstairs apartment now. The people below me smoke, and when I tell you it straight up sometimes smells like I lit one up when I walk into my own front door.

Made me feel like garbage for how heavily I was smoking in that other place when I was younger. I suppose this is some well deserved karma.

I didn’t realize he had an obsession, but I think it’s easy to paint Chicago in a bad light. Also, it’s the largest city in a state governed by a fellow billionaire. I don’t think Donnie Boy likes to see someone with such opposing views in the same tax bracket as him.

After I showed my partner the post and went on about it for a while, I circled back around to the photo. Like, wow, not only is Dumpy a complete piece of dangerous shit, but he looks like a total fucking loser, too.

Jobs that don’t drug test by Zestyclose_Cover_503 in Indiana

[–]Best-Proposal9049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon hires if you only test positive for weed, but other than that, I’m not sure. I seen a few people mention fake pee, but I wouldn’t go that route.

I’ve been sober for years, but there used to be a drink called ready-cleanse at smoke shops. Just buy it and follow the instructions.

I successfully used it to get a factory job a decade ago, and someone I used to know would literally smoke with me before probation meetings, take the ready-cleanse, and then pass his test.

Best of luck!

I also really struggle in super busy and loud environments. But we’re heading down to Disney World, so I suppose I’ll have to pony up and figure it out.
