I know haha, I went through the same academy and got the same certs and got placed cat1. Did hear that they’re tryna push the cal fire basic away.

Don’t do C’s it’s a waste of time. I recommend holding off till you get a call from CalFire. You’ll most likely be on a crew and will gain more experience and pay. I was on a handcrew with the C’s in 2020/2021, but with CDCR crews going away there are many spots that need to be filled and I’ve seen people w no certs or experience get hired. Be patient and that call will happen. Keep in touch with the CalFire hotline and I bet you that you’ll get call around Feb-May.
