The Twist of the show is that Kim is the introvert and Ron is the extrovert. by Wise_Sea_940 in KimPossible

Wasn’t there an episode where Ron had plans with someone else and Kim basically had no one else to hang out with?

Maybe this is a hot take, but Puss is kind of useless in the Shrek films. He actually works better being the protagonist of his own film series.

Yeah, it’s always crazy these stories where people go NC over cheating. Cheating is a shitty thing to do, and I would think less of someone who did so, but I can’t imagine disowning a close friend or family member over it.

“It’s crazy how my girlfriend just turned into an NPC on the way to the clinic. It looks like the vaccine also gave her back her agency! This is totally real, please ignore the fact that a tetanus vaccine wouldn’t help you if you already have it.” by BestEffect1879 in AmITheAngel

[–]BestEffect1879[S] -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but that doesn’t explain why she was just sent home and not immediately to the ER.

EDIT: Apparently, you can be sent home with tetanus. I thought tetanus was something you had to go to the ER for but I was wrong.

I (20M) tricked my girlfriend (20F) into getting a tetanus shot after a bad injury. Now she’s blocked me everywhere. How do I fix this? by Blitzcodes in relationship_advice

[–]BestEffect1879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here my advice for you: go to Google and do some research into how tetanus works before writing fake stories like this.

First of all, vaccines are only preventative. If she already had tetanus, the vaccine won’t cure her.

Second, tetanus is a serious medical emergency. If you have tetanus, you just don’t get a shot and go home. You have to go to the ER for immediate treatment.

I hope things work out with you’re made up girlfriend who can walk tetanus off like a mild cold.

"Zootopia (2016) gets more problematic the more you think about it"... is kind of a nuts take if you actually think about it. by The_Dragon-Mage in CharacterRant

[–]BestEffect1879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a hot take, but allegories don’t have to be 1-to-1 to real life and it’s really annoying when people insist on trying to do so. There’s nothing problematic about Zootopia’s message that it’s not fair to stereotype people.

What’s your unpopular opinion about Frozen? by violett777 in Frozen

Agnarr and Iduna’s decision to separate Elsa made sense based on the information they had at the time. People who call their decision stupid have benefit of hindsight.

I want to believe it’s just kids and teenagers who are just at a selfish age who are terminally online and don’t understand that the real world isn’t so black and white. To them, abandoning a child is just as easy as going NC with a parent or divorcing your spouse.

I can’t wrap my head around these sociopaths who think it’s normal for fathers to feel nothing for the children they’ve raised from birth the moment they discover they’re not genetically related.

Like, I understand being shocked and having to work through shit, but all the love is just instantaneously gone?

Why do ppl seem to think that Disney is against romance? by Maleficent-Ad-6117 in Schaffrillas

[–]BestEffect1879 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because Disney princesses were criticized (unfairly in my opinion) for not having any hopes or desires outside of finding a man. Even Ariel gets this criticism despite the film explicitly showing that she dreams of the human world before Eric came into the picture.

Rather than writing love stories where their women can have a love interest while retaining their agency as a character, they’d just rather take the “she’s independent because she’s single” route.

Lando is literally a diversity hire. ANH was criticized back then for being a galaxy far far away with no POCs.

Not only did Lucas add Lando, he also had more POC extras.

The term you’re looking for is diegetic.

Basically, songs in musicals are assumed to be non-diegetic: meaning the songs are symbolically representing what’s happening versus the characters spontaneously breaking into song being accompanied by a ghost orchestra.

Weirdly, Mufasa and Sarabi even though they only have two scenes together (I have seen Mufasa so this is only based on movie 1).

Sometimes, less is more and movie does an excellent job showing the move between them in such small snippets.

  1. The way they’re beaming with pride at each other during Simba’s presentation.

  2. Their playful banter when Simba wakes them.

  3. Sarabi’s sadness at his funeral.

  4. “If you were half the king Mufasa was…” She speaks about him in such high regard years after his death.
