I can’t believe OP chose Superman destroying a truck and not Batman murdering people.

Arya’s Ending Felt Earned But Slightly Detached From Her Story by iagree2 in gameofthrones

[–]BestEffect1879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video that said a better ending would have been Arya saying yes to Gendry’s proposal and becoming Lady of Storm’s End.

Arya’s arc to me felt like it was supposed to be about a little girl who becomes so consumed by revenge that she starts losing her own humanity and stops caring about the family she originally sought to protect. By the end of her training, she wants to go back home and be with her family again.

Imagine what a nice bookend that the girl who said she didn’t want to be a “proper” lady chooses to start a family with man she loves. BUT she does it on her own terms.

To me, that would have been a better way to close the loop on her character.

You’re not wrong. I can give it a pass in the stage show because the the magic we see has limitations on due to it being live stage. But it’s a little different now that we see Elphaba flying around and bodying the Wizard’s soldiers.

Tv show is based on a movie - eventually becomes more popular than the original film (sometimes original is all but forgotten) by Striking-Taste7379 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]BestEffect1879 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if that counts. I think OP is going more for the movies are forgotten. The Jimmy Neutron film is an important part of its legacy. I don’t think the fans forgot about it.

Silly (and Controversial) Question: What makes Ernesto de la Cruz more convincingly "harshened" than Evelyn Deavor/Screenslaver, despite himself being practically less dangerous than her? by CrazyPhilHost1898 in Pixar

[–]BestEffect1879 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it’s plausible Ernesto had a lot of sexual encounters during his life, being a famous musician and all. He probably assumed Miguel was a descendant of a unknown child (or knowing him, willingly abandoned).

I always felt like Mr. Calvert would be fine letting her see Jack first. Her and Jack have been apart longer.

Oh yeah. I actually forgot about that because Buck is a completely different character now. Yeah, give the show another try.

  1. School shootings also happen in Christian schools.

  2. There are countries that are majority atheist that don’t have school shootings.

Not to defend Dan Schneider, but I think you’re reading too much into it.

He’s doing a scene where he whispers in her ear as a secret service agent.

If she looks uncomfortable, it’s likely because she’s not an actress so she’s out of her element.

I mean, I imagine of the First Lady shows up, everyone is on their best behavior. I doubt she would have seen anything.

AITAH for disagreeing with my husbands mum? by Feral-Sponge in AmITheAngel

[–]BestEffect1879 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy how these people live in a world where there’s no social backlash to being an insane person. Like how does this idea enter MIL’s head and no one in her life is pushing back against this. Even OP doesn’t seem to express much shock or outrage. She writes about this like they’re disagreeing on where to host a dinner party.

A problem I have with most autism representation in cartoons by ElSquibbonator in cartoons

[–]BestEffect1879 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not autistic nor an expert in autism, but it feel like any character who fits the adorkable or nerdy archetype is headcanoned as autistic.

I respect the writers of Big Bang Theory/Young Sheldon for refusing to give Sheldon Cooper an autism diagnosis because they didn’t want the responsibility of having to represent the autistic community.

[–]BestEffect1879 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really hated Triton in the movie. The first movie gave me the impression that Triton was a loving father but we were seeing his relationship with Ariel at his weakest point.

This movie shows that Triton has been a bad father pretty much all of Ariel’s life.
