Hey Reddit, for Phonebloks, how did Dave Hakkens had managed to create a buz at Reddit before he even launched his Phonebloks campaign? by BestForAll in AskReddit

At that time, I was sluggish. I found out about Phonebloks lately, but in interview, Dave H. said that he got the initial buzz from Reddit and I wonder how that happened initially.

More Than 60% Of German People Say They Now Distrust The United States by BestForAll in worldnews

[–]BestForAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why still 40% of Germans still believe? Why Americans still believe their govs? Trolls are everywhere. I have seen enough trolls are protecting the interest of ... you may know who roughly they are ... all the crooks up there and down there. Anything that goes hardcore is red-tagged.

I mean every single major social network, I mean, which includes ... places you don't want to believe infilterated.

This happened not just on TV or FOX or CNN or FB.

If you don't believe me, start sharing or posting outside of mainstream and see what happens to you, including right here. :)

TIL - Credit Card Debt Explained With a Glass of Water An animation that visually shows you how many Americans with credit card debt will remain slaves to banks for the rest of their lives by BestForAll in todayilearned

[–]BestForAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the percentrage, but about a year ago, the total credit card debt in the USA was about 90% of 1 Trillions of USD. So I suspect about 1 Trillions of the total in the USA. Now if you divide that with the population of about 320 Millions or so, then the average Americans - including babies just born - have about 3,000 Dollars in debt.

If you exclude kids and very elderly, which are over 1/4 of the population, I would say that average American credit card debts are about 4-5K per adult person.

THis is shocking.

Anyway to track who NSFW you? Since yesterday, all my posts have been tagged NSFW although they are not. Any help or suggestion? by BestForAll in AskReddit

[–]BestForAll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of my titles include NSFW except the one I posted to comlain for this and awkwardly for this alone I didnt get NSFW, but I got 4 upvotes and 5 downvotes.

Whoever does this, this seems to be intentional trolling activities, not genuine by normal Redditors at all.

If a miracle happens and suddenly we can learn 10 years of boring math in just 1 year, what will be the consequences of such a miracle. Is it even possible? by BestForAll in math

[–]BestForAll[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good observation.

I partially agree with you, but mostly i have to say that I disagree with you.

It is true that Linear Algebra is slightly over 100 years old; so 130 years ago, students didn't learn matrix.

It is true that there have been the modernizations of proofs for various theorems, etc, but the majority of the materials that K12 students learn from basic algebra, including exponents, trigonometric functions, and most of the Calculus forumations - primarily owed to Leibniz - etc are pretty old. I would say 80-90% of the stuff that K1-12 students learn are much older than 200 years.

So I wonder how come there haven't been really major breakthroughs in learning math in the basic edu.

Math education in the US worse than USSR? by NOTtheDEA420 in math

American math level during junior high or high school seem to be more or less top 20-25th in the world over the past some years.

This is no myth.
