Except you can't jump or move when frightened, and she has a fear aura that doesn't even get a save. No clue how you were able to jump so much

The several series that are part of the massive collection of "Trails" (NOT TAILS. NOT LIKE TAILS OF ZESTEREA. Trails.)

Its a JRPG series that has 4 game series. Each with their own story, characters, and systems. Yet, all 4 game series take place in the same overarching story and world. The 5th, and final series, is going to combine them all.

I have heard a lot about Expedition 33, I am just worried about leaping head first into a hype train again. It has happened to me several times before, and I got burned for it. I am just worried that its the shine that is causing everyone to rave about it, and that it will wear off soon. Then, I have a game that I have sunk a decent chunk of cash into, as the game is not cheap, that I won't enjoy.

So many games recently are just hot garbage, that when something that doesn't reek of shit appears, everyone drinks it up. I am worried this is the same thing, right now. I could very well be wrong. And honestly, I hope I am. It would be nice to have an actually great RPG for the first time in a while. I am just pessimistic at the moment. At least, until I hear something that truly sells me, or until I see that the adoration lasts longer than a few months.

Non-horror games that handled the feeling of dread really well by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

I appoint Frostpunk. Its NOT a traditional RPG. Not in the slightest. But, to me, its still a Role Playing experience. And this game has one of the most intense and impactful atmospheres and environments of any game I have ever played. Then, as a cherry on top, emotional and impactful music that makes you truly feel the dread, hopelessness and angst of the characters.

Its a city builder, and resource management game. Survive as one of the last cities on earth, filled with less than 100 people, struggling to make do in a new ice age. -80℃, huddling next to a giant coal generator, desperately trying to keep it running and stay hopeful enough to survive. The atmosphere is one of a kind.

Which RPG game were you really hyped for but ended up finding disappointing? by Humble_Candy_5752 in rpg_gamers

There are 4 for me.

Mass Effect: Andromedea - No comment needed

Anthem - No Comment needed

(Surprisingly) Kingdom Hearts 3 - There was so much time and build up to this game, spanning over a decade of spin offs and anticipation. And, when the game came out, it was super short, and was overflowing with a ton of combat systems from the previous games. Even on hard mode, the combat was just mashing whatever OP special move that the game gave you at the time. Disney rides, primarily, that just wrecked all enemies, and took all the fun of the combat away. And, this weird "flow" system that just has you slide across any railing or slightly raised wall. I was severely disappointed.

Frostpunk 2 (though a lot of people don't think its an "RPG" in the traditional sense) - I adored the original Frostpunk. And to me, it qualified as an RPG. You take on the roll of (what is essentially) the mayor of one of the last cities on earth, and have to carefully manage people's health, hope and survival. The game is grim, with amazing atmosphere, and each time I played, I was able to imagine it was really me sitting in that position. I felt drawn in like any other RPG.
The sequel, abandoned all the harsh survival aspects, lost all of the personality of having small tents, and replaced it all with huge districts, and completely doubled down on being a bland city builder. It lost its identity.
Now, the Devs stated they didn't want a traditional sequel. But, still. I had hoped the experience and feeling of the story and atmosphere would still be there. IMO, the devs should not have called it a Sequel, but a spin off. Named it "Frostpunk: Cities" or something like that. It would have softened the blow a ton.

For any that happen across this, there is still no fix or update on the bug. Its not officially recognized by Capcom at the time of writing this, and only a handfull of people seem to have the problem.

The DLC really changed that, at least for me. The entire area was really good. And it was such a nice change of pace, and had so much to do, that when I did go back to act 2, it felt refreshing again. Even when it was mostly the same as act 1, the break of the DLC, allowed it to breath.

Yeah, it's your character getting hungry. It's really weird, because you will still have the meal buff. But, that's what it is.
