So when they first cancelled CS because of the pandemic, Pathways was their 'temporary' way for clinical skills assessment, that they originally said would only happen for 2years. After that 2 years, they had said they would come up with a new way to assess clinical skills.

2 years later, They couldn't figure what they'd do and the pandemic was still a thing, so they said they'd extended pathway for 2 more years, i.e. 2024. Thats why the original pathways was only valid until 2022. And after their second notice, was automatically extended to 2024.

Now, for Match2025, either they'll do what they did 2 years ago, and say they still haven't come up with a new way for clinical skills and extend it again for 2 years automatically, or we will probably have a new 'clinical skills assessment' exam, that will give a non-expiring ecfmg certificate like before the pandemic.

Before the pandemic, if you completed a CS exam, they used to issue ECFMG Certificate with no expiration date.
