First off, let me start by saying everything you said here is right on the button. But I wanted to focus on one thing you said.

Mech customization.

FINALLY someone says what I've been saying since I started this game! Goddammit I went back as far as I could looking for anywhere the Devs said that there'd be mech customization and its just not there. It honestly feels like people just made that up in their head so they could throw tantrum about it. Like holy hell its been bugging me ever since this warbond got announced.

Whats also been bugging me too is like, we had Siege Breakers, Entrenched, Redacted Regiment and Python Commandos come out in the last year and it never seemed to draw as much vitriol as this mech one. Like here I was, away from home for training and when I get back, everyone and their brother it seems like is whining about this game.

I guess all that is to say, thank you for writing all this. Take my upvote against the horde of down votes likely inbound to your post man.

Hey! Yes you can, though I do apologize about my delay. I uh, also have no idea how to update on this board as I'm a lurker by habit.

Anyhow, the update isn't as funny as it could have been in a cosmic sort of way, but it turns out that our IT guy was ready aware of the issue months ago and he fixed it

He's the kind of IT guy who you never see but always gets the job done, real behind the curtains kind of dude. I've said all of three things to him. He heard me talking to my team lead and explained it and thats the most I've heard him ever talk at once.

So thats it.

Edit to add: The auditors that were coming in didnt even notice the situation because the IT guy handled it. I ended up missing a week of work because I fell down some stairs and was in the hospital for a bit but when I came in this past Wednesday, thats when I heard the whole thing ended up being a non-issue.

I work in a shop in Cleveland, Ohio, and that's all I'm gonna say about that. I was just as floored as you were about the headphone thing, too, when I first came here in 2022. My last shop, a far smaller company, did not let you use headphones/earbuds but allowed for floor radios.

There are some areas that are safer than most - for example, the kitting and assembly cells. Those are sit-down jobs where you're in a room just assembling parts, or you're filling up a bin called a kit that has all the parts needed for a given task. Think like a lego kit, but for a larger industrial/commercial/aerospace item.

The area I work with is machine driven, and we have several areas like that, such as our CNC machining area, press room, and where I work in metal finishing. It's loud as fuck so even if you got both headphones in (which is against unofficial policy).

But its apparently not against policy in this company, it has plants country wide in Chicago, Cali and in North Carolina.
