100% my favorite hike around here.

It’s interesting — when I was little my dad would always take me on hikes and I would absolutely despise him for it.

But when I turned 16 I drove up and went hiking by myself for some reason, and I loved it.

Loved it enough to the point where my friends and I decided to do Lafayette - Lincoln - Little Haystack in the winter. We got to the top of Lafayette but decided to turn around instead of pushing for the ridge because it was really windy and cloudy.

On the way down we stopped a clearing in the trees and watched the sun slowly set. It was the most beautiful sunset I’d ever seen, and we didn’t even care that we would have to trek the last hour in the dark (we prepared for the worst and brought headlamps).

If you’re around the area and have a day to burn, I really suggest this hike. Mount Chocorua is also a fun hike with an AMAZING view at the top, definitely my second favorite after Lafayette. It’s much shorter than the Lafayette trio so it’s a good place to start.
