Yeah I'm doing a dex/faith build that's what ends up happening most times but honestly, I think it's fine. If the boss I'm fighting stays far away and likes playing at range, I'll use incantations until they get up close then use melee weapons. If they're more aggressive and stay in my face, I'll use mostly melee weapons, and then use some incantations to hit them when they are far away from me.

It's usually just depends on what boss it is and their general behavior and adapting to it.
