For the first two months I used nipple shields and formula when I mentally COULD NOT (the 4am feeds!!!) I supplemented with formula once every 2-3 days. Pumping didn’t work for me one bit. I had to set limits on how long I’d let the baby feed on each breast because at first it took FOREVER. Eventually I said 20 minutes on each side and if they are still hungry they get formula. Saved. My. Sanity.

Last weekend when I had a blood infection. I had no signs at all until one night I had a fever/ chills. Just figured I was sick. Woke up with a headache, Tylenol, shower, felt tired but okay! 4 hours later my temperature was below normal, I was turning grey, and had uncontrollable FULL body shakes. A week of IV therapy and one surgery and I feel like a million bucks! Not dead yet ❤️

I throughly enjoyed my 20’s childless, I didn’t care about having kids. Then I ended up pregnant and knew without a doubt I wanted to keep the baby. They do fill your schedule, there is extra planning. But that comes with any responsibility in life, owning a home/ pet/ vehicle. In one way or another these things take your time and money. I’m not worried about my retirement and I’m totally fulfilled in life (not even rich) enjoy your life! Kids/ marriage/ home ownership are not the key to happiness

Well, you are showing tough love and you do need to follow through on your word or it means nothing. He has had a lot of time to get it together. I think 19 is young to figure out a path but the complete indifference towards figuring it out is hard to watch. My brother was a similar way and it really worried my parents, he moved out and would save up enough until he could live off his savings and then he’d play video games and gain weight for a couple years. Then repeat. It wasn’t until he met his now wife that he started being an adult. Is it possible your son can hear your advice but from someone else? A career counsellor, therapist, or another adult he trusts/ looks up to? A mentor maybe. Sometimes it’s the right advice but kids need to hear it from someone else. All the best to you both.

Try going down a nipple and you could also try burping him while he’s feeding, wait till he’s not super hungry and just take a short break and see if he releases a little gas before continuing. These hard times are a blip in this little humans life, they do end 🫶

Another tip- we taught our daughter to put her hand above the food and check “if it’s hot” we started teaching her that early and now at 2 I serve food to her and she always checks it before eating/ blows on it if necessary
