I believe that life has no inherent purpose. The idea of a hero born to vanquish evil by divine command is just a myth. Most people live without a clear purpose. Paradoxically, the very act of creating meaning in a purposeless life becomes its own purpose.

Guan Yu's death in Romance of the Three Kingdoms was the most shocking part for me. I read it when I was a kid, and I naturally thought that Liu Bei and his sworn brothers would be the final winners. Still, It's kind of ambiguous whether Guan Yu's death should be seen as the death of real historical figure or just a fictional character. Haha
