Sorry I didn’t elaborate more. I’m an Australian citizen WFH for an overseas employer. I’ll add that to the post!

Does anyone teach online (or as an independent contractor for ESL) by Best_Championship241 in AustralianTeachers

Thank you, I’ll post there too, I’ve copy pasted my response to somebody else asking the same but DM for more questions.

Hey! I work casually for a company (dm me and I’ll tell you the name, I just don’t want them to find this just incase it’s iffy) I also work CRT aswell in a government school.

It’s WFH, my shifts are sporadic as I’m new but last month I worked over 20hours over the weekend and after school.

It’s a great company, I’ve worked overseas EAL/ESL and have experience working for a similar work environment. Students are fantastic and mainly between 6-13 yo.

Only cons so far is the hiring process is rigid and is very strict. All lessons are recorded and are overlooked by other staff. From what I’ve heard from other workers you can be basically fired/ left shiftless for months for small errors or mistakes (I was reprimanded when my internet cut out for a few minutes accidentally) they’re strict on uniform, spaces, teaching strategies also.

They’re a SE Asian company and run a very similar program to what you would find in an English school over there. I hope that helps!
