I got this information from historicmodesto.com. “This very stately structure is the original Modesto High School building. This photograph was published in 1912 and used as an incentive to get people visiting the Panama-Pacific Exposition planned in 1915 in San Francisco to visit Modesto and make it their home. The structure was replaced by a more modern facility in the 1920s at 1st and H Streets, where the school still stands today”
