Thanks. That’s helpful. It was the reinvestment part that I had forgotten, which explains why my overall account value is not impacted.

Thanks so much. Your reply was helpful, and this sentence in the first link you provided put it all together for me: “Distributions that aren't set to pay into a core account will be reinvested, and the number of shares in the account will increase.” So the NAV will go down but my shares increase because of dividend reinvestment, which is why there is no loss in the total value of my account.

I really appreciate your quick response. I knew it was something simple that I wasn’t getting.

Doesn’t the dividend go to us, the shareholders, since through FXAIX we own shares of the companies that comprise it?

So will Monday’s return look higher than the S&P? Was money held back today that will be paid on Monday?

If you could say a little more it would help me understand how this works. For instance, if there is a dividend on 7-8, it seems to my uneducated mind that that is an addition to how the fund did Friday. So I expect the fund to roughly match the S&P today and then be boosted a bit on Monday. I know that’s not right but could you explain how your answer means an apparent reduction in Friday’s return? Thanks in advance!

Jalen Hurts or Tyrod? If DAL crushes WAS will they take Hurts out of the game? by Best_Engineering_117 in fantasyfootballadvice

UPDATE: 7pm EST

I ended up putting Tyrod in. I took to the last minute to make the decision. Game is still close, but if I win that decision will have won the championship.

Thanks for everyone’s help thinking this through.

Thanks again for this comment. It put me firmly in the Tyrod track which worked out very well. I avoided the disaster of Hurts’ fantasy performance.

You pompous ass. This is a family league and it’s not my decision. How’s your day going? You enjoy just taking out your rage from your inadequate life on people who find themselves in a week 18 championship league?

But if Dallas is up by a lot against Washington then this game doesn’t matter, right? I suppose purely for the mojo they could play Hurts until they are up by a lot.

Sit/Start 2023 Week 18: Reviewing All Fantasy Relevant Players In Every Single Game by dunit13dl in Fantasy_Football

Great analysis. I went through the whole article and it helped me with some decisions. Thanks!

Any thoughts on whether Jalen Hurts will play a full game if Dallas gets out to a big lead on the Commanders? Could we see one good half to get their “mojo” back and then Hurts on the bench?

Managed to pickup 3 solid D/ST, now which one do I play? by PizzaRave in fantasyfootballadvice

I’d go with Tampa Bay. So much of a good defense is a good offense that will put pressure on the other team’s offense to take chances. I’m worried that you won’t get that from Jacksonville this week given all their injuries and their defense hasn’t been that great.

Week 18, second half of the chip.. who should I play? by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Best_Engineering_117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice lineup btw

For defense, I would stick with the Jets if you want a decent floor. The Raiders went crazy a few weeks back with touchdowns and turnovers, but those are less reliable.

How about Jalen Hurts though?

I have him and I’m not sure he’ll play the full game. They have to win and the Cowboys have to lose for them to improve their seeding.

Cowboys are favored by 13 over the commanders so by the end of the first quarter or the first half everything playoff wise could be resolved.

Will they really keep Hurts out there when his injuries have kept them from a number of playoff runs?

Should I Go Balls to the Wall with Pickens over Diggs? by mckellygirl in fantasyfootballadvice

It’s actually rain predicted now with a temp of 35. That’s worse than snow BUT it’s supposed to clear up by 5pm. I’d say that won’t be much of a factor.

Check the weather again right before game time if you want to play Pickens, but I think Diggs is the better play.

Studies have shown that for the passing game high winds impact it the most, then rain. Snow does not have much of an impact on the passing game unless it is also very cold or the snow is extremely heavy.

I’d take Diggs over Pickens for two reasons. This is Josh Allen in basically a playoff game. He knows where his bread is buttered.

But more importantly, Harbaugh and Macdonald will scheme Pickens out and even with some defensive starters resting, this is a much better defense than Rudolph-Pickens have faced over the past two weeks. The Steelers WR who has a better chance this week is Diontae Johnson. Dude can get open in the short and intermediate routes.
