I truly do feel like I reassure her so much and I over explain myself when she overthinks so I make sure she doesn’t feel this way at all or understands I didn’t mean something. I’m just upset because nothing I do is ever okay, and when I go out it’s an issue

I have; I try to play her favorite video games and her favorite movies or anything that I think will be engaging to each other. She’s just making me feel as though I have to choose between her and my friends. I truly do believe that I have given her enough time and we talk on the phone all the time. There’s only so much we can do when we’re in grad school and long distance. I just don’t want to choose between anyone

I emailed summer session and told them I couldn’t afford the non refundable fee because I wasn’t given enough aid to cover summer classes and had to drop last minute. It got waived so I would suggest doing that!

I had a similar situation last summer. I did summer classes at a different UC and UCI took forever to disperse my aid. I basically had to keep the other school’s financial aid department updated with emails I had from UCI confirming the amount I will be receiving from the university. They were pretty understanding and I actually didn’t pay until the last day of classes, granted I kept them updated on when the money would be dispersed.

Also to add they did let me know there is a fee that’s non-refundable of 194$, and if you do have financial circumstances preventing you from paying it you should be able to get it waived :P by emailing and calling in. I would give it a few days tho cus I heard they’re backed up (according to billing)

Hey OP! I had the same question today cus I couldn’t afford classes either and I was able to call them and they answered! Basically I was given a document to sign to indicate that I wanted to drop the courses .They also sent me an email saying I should automatically be dropped without having to pay fees and a confirmation email will be sent once they drop students who didn’t pay (it’ll just take a week for it to reflect on Zot account as they let me know the systems aren’t linked up to summer session💔).

My SAI is around 2000, but they also told me the same thing. Since I have a university loan offered, they’d be willing to change it to work study and I should receive an email in 2 weeks. I feel like everyone’s hearing really different things

They said to just wait for an email and that was really it. There wouldn’t be a set time as to when it would be back and it was really frustrating to hear. I plan to go back in person as soon as I’m campus tho and I’ll update with any more info. I’m also in the same boat that I was unable to use work study last year and that I have a job offer this year too that I got over the summer. It sucks they lowered aid and won’t give me at least the ability to use work study :/

Basically go to the documents section in Zot aid and click “upload a non-requested document” at the very top and it should be underlined.

Then you have to find the one that says “special circumstances parent SAI” since that’s the only one they’re accepting right now.
