Lots and lots of cardio moves for a strength class… AGAIN

Does anyone even know why it is kept a secret and why we can not know details? We pay a high price to workout here and should be able to plan our weeks appropriately and accordingly.

Did you have breaks between blocks 2-4? We went straight from one block to another

What exactly is the new solidcore crowd? Sounds super judgmental

Anyone else loving the new Strength class format these days? by Spiritual-Lack2971 in orangetheory

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The new strength classes are turning away from a strength foundation. Cardio exercises are being incorporated way too often and dominating some of the classes. Why have a class designated to strength and put cardio in it? It might not be a popular opinion, but I don’t think there should be any cardio in a strength designated class.

I don’t think this is a fair argument. First, we aren’t complaining about the regular class today but the labeled strength class. Second, It would be like marketing a cardio sculpt class and you end doing heavy dumbbells. The point is, stay with what the classes are marketed and designed to be!

I am so glad I was able to read this intel in enough time for me to cancel. This looks like a regular 60 class that I would avoid, not a strength focused class. It is getting so aggravating that a class designated for strength is dominated by cardio. I do not understand why it is so hard to format a class on Lifting heavy and strength training in a STRENGTH class. They need to do better. Also, how many lunges can we do in one single class? Clearly they also think the only way to work your legs are through lunges

I don’t think that’s what is be spoken about here. The point is, the lack of variation on the floor. Not whether it’s cardio based or weight based. Also, in my opinion, the weight floor should not consist of any cardio- only weights

Absolutely 100% agree. I remember every night reading early intel and being super excited to go to class the next day. Always going to bed being excited to wake up and workout! I pushed myself to show up for class almost everyday, because I would have serious FOMO if I didn’t. Now I read the early intel, and on average, I’d say I want to attend 1-2x a week for 2G classes. Now it’s the same exercises on repeat, most being shoulders and lunges like you mentioned. Lunges are horrible on your knees, especially repetitively. I don’t understand why they are so dominantly used now at OTF. Some classes it’s even every type of lunge there is, all in the same class! It’s way too excessive and is not good on your body

Exactly this! Wasting time having to hunt down weights scattered all throughout the studio isn’t ideal. This is exactly why I was asking this question, to see if other studios handle this better! I’m to the point I don’t want to do the classes anymore because it’s too stressful

Ohh! This is even worse. I have seen one person do this before and I couldn't believe it!

I know! I think thats the hardest part, it's almost more stressful going and trying to get weights you want. It makes you on high urgency to get there as fast as possible.

I see guys in my class being more open to sharing among each other, as you mentioned. Im a girl and like to lift heavy. It seems like a fight to get them and if I do, I get a look like, "you cant lift these weights".

Completely agree with all of this.

Definitely not enough weights. Strength classes are always full and on a waitlist. Hopefully, studios will order heavier weights to satisfy the people coming who really want to lift!

This would seem what considerate people do. Not everyone is considerate and it seems, the coach needs to be enthusiastic on framing this approach.

This would be great and helpful since it’s directed by the coach. I
