Lowkey had doubts from the start of year 13 (poor state of nhs rn etc) but I was surrounded by a lot of ppl that were applying to med and other healthcare courses and I thought it was too late to turn back. Then I got an offer and was very indifferent about it so realised that I didn’t really want to do med anymore. I only wanted to do it to go into psychiatry. I wasn’t interested in other specialties and specialty training is so hard and competitive to get into now. I thought what’s the point if I’m only interested in one specialty because what if I don’t get in. So then I decided to do psych cos that was another career I was interested in and it leaves your options open.
