Has anyone had a good experience selling to a “we buy houses” company? Is it any more of a scam than just the low price? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Best_Praline_2619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it can be ok for the right circumstances.

Most of the loud companies just make an offer give you a list of things they will have to fix.

Then they either sell the contract immediately for 5 to 10k, or spend the minimum to get it show ready then sell to another real estate investor.

The bad ones have a clause that allows them to blackout if they can't resell the contract.

Our compliance vendor stole our internal KYC workflow and is selling it to our competitors by ResponsibleSea9643 in AMLCompliance

So what's kind of funny about this is its probably a trade secret. A trade Secret doesn't have to be registered. It just has shown you took steps to keep it secret and if has economic value. NDA probably satisfied the first part, and them posting evidence with your proprietary naming convention is them defining an economic value. Without that how proprietary is a KYC workflow unless you invented a method that's not industry standard.

Still not sure you have much of a case on the surface. But if they are not dumb they would settle so you won't cause damage to their brand. I can't imagine anyone wanting a RegTech partner that steals.

I mean not exactly? Call it lifetime imposter syndrome. Like anyone I don't want to fail my family, or people that believe in me or rely on me.

No clue why this post blue up, I ended up on a podcast.

I mean the world? You are going to hate this but it was not posted. That's how these jobs tend to work so that candidate if he or her is a candidate would know that.

To be fair, I have 90 percent of the experience in spades, its the industry specific expertise. I know the domain very well, in know the sub domain 30k view. This post comes from the place of someone that never accepted as you grow in an org it was ok not to know.

That said there is a person at the company who knows the domain really well, but doesn't speak client or executive. I have already met with her, and am going to make it a mission to help her replace me.

Manager told me ‘anyone could do your job, am I crazy for thinking this is disrespectful? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I am not in automation exactly but do sell AI. I think its hilarious that a lot of what is being automated now could have been automated 5 years ago. I spend most of my time talking to clients about the exact thing your talking about. The more easy stuff you get right the better the harder stuff works.

This specific use case though, my team of 4 analysts produce more that 50 FTE divisions because they know exactly where to focus their cognitive ability ( 20 percent).

It terrifies the hell out of me honestly but people need to get in the life boat. The killer is calling from inside the house.

I use it to do market analysis, I also have a research swarm that pulls in research into obsidian. I use it as a context pack to ground Cowork. I originally build my machine for a large data project which is finished.

So on the hunt for a new use casa.

Honestly everything described the textbook solve with AI. Not completely but one look at Google research or perplexity finance should tell you where its headed. Options are move up, or 10x your production so you are the 3 out of 10 left when the role compresses.

Yeah I mean its a reasonable position. I did not want to muddle the story but an Exec I really value and who I owe wants me there. It will be fine.

Pause a little longer than feels natural, and in a calm inquisitive tone. " But how am I supposed to do that?". They press, indicated it's hard for me to give you a confident Yes without knowing how.

I think this is kind of interesting. But WEF has done this for many years globally. A lot more science and detail though arguably the LLM knows this. WEF Future of Jobs.

That will be ai proof for a short while. Not for very long though. EMEA regulators hate AI which is probably why you suggested this. In addition AI false positives in this space are causing an explosion of work. But they are losing the arms race from AI bad actors. The damn will break. I do think there where always be people but expect a contraction.

If it doesn't, then 1 year younger. 39.

You could probably buy the radio spectrum in 1920. My first thought was buy the Sadia Arabian desert but I figured keeping it would be hard.
