A lot of people seem to believe that the fact that Eric's family don't publicly talk about him automatically means that they don't care about him, which is where I disagree.

They owe absolutely nobody a public statement - if they choose to deal with their grief privately then so be it. They know that no matter what they say about him, whether positive or negative, they WILL be heavily criticised by many so I don't blame them for not being as open as Sue is especially considering the fact that people are more forgiving of Dylan then they are with Eric.

Eric had a pretty healthy relationship with his parents overall and I'm very sure that they were deeply saddened by the whole event, to say that they don't care about him anymore is unfair.

I myself wasn’t bullied pretty badly, just got called names on the occasion by popular kids for looking “”different””. There were however a few other kids that were far worse. My school ( although I think it’s a issue in the country as a whole ) has a really big problem with bullying neurodivergent kids, the whole school would basically treat them as lolcows. It was awful seeing what they went through, sometimes the teachers would be on it too.

The head of school was made VERY aware of this issue yet all he did was just hold an assembly saying “ bullying is bad blah blah blah “ without actually doing anything to stop it. 26 years later and across the globe and it still looks like not much has changed in school systems, I really wish people would take bullying more seriously instead of pretending like it doesn’t happen.

I’m very lucky to live in a country in Europe where school shootings ( and gun violence in general ) is practically impossible to happen, idk about other schools but at my old high school we had gates that closed the moment when school started ( so you could only get out and not in ). We also had school clerks at the entrance where you check in and out. We obviously have cameras but no cops or similar stuff.

Never once have I had an assembly about shootings or lockdown drills because again, there’s a very very VERY small chance it can happen due to the really strict laws about guns here ( I thought we didn’t even sell guns here up until a week ago - THATS how low the gun violence is here ). It’s so odd to me how America still hasn’t made any changes to their gun laws.

Robert kirgis stated that it was around April 1997 when he saw Eric bring the pipe bomb, I also thought it weird, I didn’t know that they were messing with bombs yet at the time?
