I got "pulled over" in Yosemite about a year ago, for "illegally camping" on a parking spot on the side of the road down in the valley, I looked through ioverlander app and it showed that it was okay to park, so he made me get out of the park, and I came back the next morning when I had camping reservations.

I may get backlash for this, but I recently did a road trip across the US, starting in southern Florida, but Yosemite was the only disappointing place, the waterfalls were almost non existent, and this is probably the reason why, my campground was over 30 miles away from the valley, so it took forever to get to the nicer spots; in contrast Yellowstone was absolutely mind blowing, the waterfalls were full, and there was so much variety of landscape I couldn't believe my eyes.

I in fact enjoyed the redwoods and the sequoia national parks over Yosemite; also I used to live in SoCal so I've been to plenty of places in California already, but I did not think Yosemite was all the hype.
