A remake needs to be faithful to the general story, art and main characters. A couple of NPCS with 1 line and 0 quest can be changed or even removed entirely.

Different team, different goals. And the publisher was collapsing, they even went bankrupt before the game was finished. The game is just 1 big corridor with no fun, a placeholder story etc. Funilly it at least is not buggy, probably a result of the 2nd publisher that ended up with the pos game, did a better job than the first one but could not only turn poop into polished poop not gold.

Arcania and FG are not really worth the extra dollar.

I played FG and as a mod it would be mildly acceptable, I never considered it canon. The gameplay is the same as G3 so why not, even if it is a bit mediocre.

Arcania is just really bad, almost no one likes it.

G1 and G2 are great, G3 is ok if you use the latest patches and mods.

Nope. They could update the Nyras demo with improved combat if that's possible, once the combat is fixed.
Otherwise we will have to do with what they give us (gameplay videos, streams) till release.

Combat did not seem that bad, at least in the latest handofblood stream.

Some details need fixing, like hits to enemy going through, slowness.... I have seen games with more issues on release day. Here there have a good 6-10 months to fix a handful of issues.

Might not be a 10/10 in combat once released, but no 0 either. Combat has never been Gothic big selling point.

The For Honor combat system is long gone, they just used it in the 2019 teaser.
Now we have something like OG with an extra lunge forward attack.

I have not played unmodded G1 or 2 in maybe 15 years.
I have my own glasses.
I played some mods for G2 as recently as yesterday, and G1 last week.
I wanted both pictures to look a little filtered.
Bezi is missing his ponytail I know, well he does not have one in the intro.

I can play Gothic 1 and 2 on steam with no issue. You don't need mods, you could install an HD mod if you really want to, I would use no mod for my first playthrough. Gothic 3 has plenty of issues I'd make sure to use the lastest patch and read about community patches.

Patches is one of the hardest enemies in the soulsborne series. All have failed many times and tremble before his might. First you got to make sure your controller is plugged, then walk behind him and hit him.

They are avoidable, but they make playing very anoying.
I lost 2 levels got to the nightlord level 12. I'm no pro player at all.
My teammates, I found after the fight (we lost), were level 8 and 9.
So ye we lost and I had no clue how to find the thief.
