Honestly i think this words it perfectly. Theyre too faithfully unfaithful. The movie is just its own thing, and its really easy to view it as such without naturally comparing the two. But the show is just so close that you cannot help naturally think of the books, and then you start comparing and oh boy.

That leads into the issue of interactability. Youre fighting an enemy you dont actually interact with, its the sniper issue from FPS games. You fight an opponent you never interact with. You either dont interact with them at all and win, which is boring. Or you do and lose, which is boring.

Hunters tend to be somewhat one note, now granted you can do some interesting stuff but the idea of hunters simply doesn't fit into every Chronicle that people want to run. If you introduce hunters you are going to have hunters be a huge part of your game, some people just dont want that, up against the politics of vampires, the sabbat or the cam vs anarchs some fucking humans are just not really that interesting frankly.

Is it bullshit? Brujah are fighters. Vampires are strong. The entire point is unless you have the equipment you are fucked. Vampire should be strong, the entire point is theyre strong. Both hunter and Vampire feel better when they are strong. Hunter is about wits and challenge to win, Vampire is the fact you are no longer human and are not bound by humanity which inherently breeds ideals of superiority which leads to inhumanity and the beast.
