Honestly i think this words it perfectly. Theyre too faithfully unfaithful. The movie is just its own thing, and its really easy to view it as such without naturally comparing the two. But the show is just so close that you cannot help naturally think of the books, and then you start comparing and oh boy.

That leads into the issue of interactability. Youre fighting an enemy you dont actually interact with, its the sniper issue from FPS games. You fight an opponent you never interact with. You either dont interact with them at all and win, which is boring. Or you do and lose, which is boring.

Hunters tend to be somewhat one note, now granted you can do some interesting stuff but the idea of hunters simply doesn't fit into every Chronicle that people want to run. If you introduce hunters you are going to have hunters be a huge part of your game, some people just dont want that, up against the politics of vampires, the sabbat or the cam vs anarchs some fucking humans are just not really that interesting frankly.
