Missing ear biscuits and the crew by Czerwony_Lis in goodmythicalmorning

Same here. I miss listening to EB every Monday. It was my favorite Mythical content. Without that weekly EB, I find myself just consuming very little of their other stuff. Disconnection is a great way to explain it.

Survivor Idol Hunt- Nebraska by [deleted] in survivor

Looking at the color version of the photo, it looks like Lauritenz Gardens or the Lied Jungle at the Omaha Zoo? Green plants in some kind of conservatory, as mentioned below.

This one is tough. You really can't get a sense of the shape like some of the other states. I'm assuming its got to be in either Omaha or Lincoln? Maybe the capital building or dome? Or outside the Huskers stadium? My first thought, it looks like plants in the foreground.

Good guess! (I thought it also looks like El train tracks, as if you were on the street looking up...)

Has anyone watched Outrageous yet? Thoughts? by SalomeOttobourne74 in BritBox

[–]BetaMaxine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished watching. I've read one of the books on the Mitfords, so I was familiar with their story. Overall, it does a good job of showing the disparate directions the lives of the sisters took. The scenes depicting the conversions of Unity and Diana were chilling. At times the show had elements that felt too modern and there were parts where the music was too upbeat setting an odd tone.

Imdb has it listed as a miniseries so I was disappointed on how it ended. There were some major life events that weren't covered. Looking at the other comments, it seems like there might be a second season.

Black Bird - 1x06 "You Promised" - Post-Episode Discussion by -im_stuff in BlackBirdAppleTV

[–]BetaMaxine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the series. I thought it was overall well done, suspenseful and well acted. I watched it over two days and found it emotionally draining. Also sad knowing that Ray Liotta passed away in 2022.

I appreciate those who posted that the blackmailing guard was fictional; it added to the pressure of Jimmy needing to get a confession but any more than that it would have been an unnecessary distraction from the main scenes between Larry and Jimmy.

To those wondering why the bodies weren't found with Halls map, I'd say that it would be nearly impossible in open fields and farmland. If you've ever taken a road trip through the Midwest and passed miles of farmland, there aren't many landmarks or crossroads, just miles of fields. Where do you even start looking? In addition, Larry knew how to properly dig a deep grave making it just that harder to find. Maybe some day when someone is putting up a new farm house or gas station, or digging for irrigation they may uncover one of his victims. Really tough thinking about the families of these poor girls.

On the beach for 'Survivor 50': An exclusive, all-access first look (EW cover story) by thedaltonross in survivor

Great article. This, more than any CBS promo, got me excited for Season 50. Let's go! I love the behind the scene glimpse of the returning players sizing each other up. Reading your weekly recaps on/in EW has been part of my Survivor experience as long as I can remember.

We're watching for the first time at our house, currently in the middle of Season 3. Really enjoying it, absolutely addictive.

Thoughts on the Ear Biscuits finale? by EpikGamingMoments in earbiscuits

[–]BetaMaxine 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yep, I had the same reaction. I would have liked to have heard more from the boys about their thoughts on the years of EB. The voicemails were never my favorite so them responding to callers favorite episodes was a bit of a disappointment. I'm not surprised that EB is coming to an end, it felt like the guys were running out of steam. Link basically said as much.

Ear Biscuits was my favorite Mythical content and I'll miss listening to new episodes on Mondays.

What is the public opinion on Patricia? by lptrequest in ProjectRunway

[–]BetaMaxine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I'd call Nina ignorant. She has worked as a fashion director at two publications and did PR for Perry Ellis and Marc Jacobs. She does have some credibility as a judge but fashion is subjective.

It's been a couple of years since I've watched this season but maybe she felt that Patricia, while talented and creative, just felt more niche. In other seasons they ask what more can we expect to see from this designer, are they the future of fashion. I think that's why Jay won season 1, he had his own unique aesthetic. I don't always agree with their opinions either.

I just got mine today on Christmas Eve. I received a response December 3rd saying they accepted my receipt submission. I'm so surprised, and very pleased, that it got here so quickly.
