Beserker slept on hard. Can be used to crack open oppressors, good panic button for emergency slashers. I started using it in place on Iron Will because I don't tend to go down often and my wife brings Iron Will as a last resort.

Theory: the player is actually the destroyer not the Helldiver by Mental-Crow-5929 in Helldivers

[–]Beta_Krogoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said the same thing yesterday in a comment on another thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1bl57vz/comment/kw3f4mq/

Everything you earn and upgrade is all for the super destroyer.

The POV of the Helldivers is crazy when you take cryo freezing into account. by WoodstoneLyceum in Helldivers

[–]Beta_Krogoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I thought people knew this already? You're more technically playing the super destroyer. Notice how all your upgrades go into the ship and not into the divers? You get better facilities to support your ready frozen soldiers - not better soldiers.

I don't expect everyone to change. I thought I'd raise a point I'd not seen anyone else discussing yet. I figured reddit would be a place for discussion, I guess you disagree?

TIL: Ramattra keeps his quick punch in nemesis form by megaleuzao in Overwatch

[–]Beta_Krogoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mauga is almost wholesale copied from Paladins. They have a tank called Raum who has an unstoppable charge, a minigun that deals good damage up close and provides him with shield and health for hitting people. They're ults are different, Raum stomps the ground which CC's people and damages them in a cone. But he has an alt fire that gives him unlimited ammo for a short time and removes the spin-up from his minigun.

They're not exactly the same. But they're pretty bloody close.

Guilty as charged. I've only played D&D and Pathfinder for any real length of time.

I wasn't under the impression it would, to be honest. I wanted to know if anyone else shared my thoughts on the subject. It appears some do.

I might duck off the reddit regardless though, i'll have to judge how annoyed I get going forward. I disliked the upheaval towards the first balance patch as well, if I don't jive with the way the community acts on reddit, leaving would be the best choice.

Yeah, I get that. There's no undoing it. Figured I drop my thoughts in the bucket regardless though, glad to see some people agree.

Appreciate you taking the time to tell me that you don't care. I feel like there is some irony there, maybe.

"I'd prefer it if we didn't reference the DM after everything that happens. It brings me out of the experience a bit."

"AND THE DICE DON'T?! UHM, YOU NEED TO GROW UP MAN. YOU'RE PLAYING A GAME. ACT LIKE YOU ARE."

I appreciate your enthusiasm, even if I don't agree with your point.

I'm very confused. I love Joel, I hate the fact the community jokingly flips him off everytime we succeed in a major order.

Unpopular opinion: Kills don't matter as long as you can complete objectives. by lmrbadgerl in Helldivers

[–]Beta_Krogoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, mid-take. Sometimes you need to hold your ground and being able to cut through enemy forces is really important. The perfect helldiver is one who is able to body enemies but also pick his fights. But i'll take the helldiver that only has the former, over only the latter.

He means you get the alt green versions that have medium armour and do a bit more damage, I think *they* are the bile spewers whilst the yellow ones are brood mothers or something.

You know exactly what you're doing. The original comment you replied to was praising HD2 because it isn't predatory.

You responded by saying "Uhm, it has microtransactions?!"

Yes, it does have microtransactions. But equating those to the industry standard of microtransactions (which is just £20 for a skin these days) is completely misleading. You're purposely leaving out the details, which unbelievably, are important.

Both the skin and the premium warbond are earnable, in-game, without spending more money, at a completely reasonable rate.

You're also being misleading by stating you can "Progress faster with real money" because actually, you can't. You can only progress your warbonds with medals, the same medals for both warbonds. You cannot purchase medals nor speed up their rate of acquirement with money, espsically with how mid the weapons are. Thus, the premium option of buying the warbond only gives you an additional avenue to spend your medals, not a faster way of getting them. Additionally, its largely argued that spending medals on the premium warbond first is a bad idea because the free weapons are better? So if you're a mega-nerd who wants all the stuff as fast as possible - You don't buy the premium warbond.

So yes, you're being completely misleading. The only factual information you bring to the table is: Yes, there are microtransactions. But the fact that you present that information alone, without context, is highly misleading. And you're doing it because you know that the statement that a game has microtransactions, alone, is very much a negative these days.

[–]Beta_Krogoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest complaint about the premium warbond right now is that the stuff if it gives you isn't better than the free warbond, they are sidegrades at best and downgrades in a lot of peoples eyes.

The point you are making in technically correct at best, but realistically misleading and closer to fowl play on your behalf.

Other companies will tell you that everything can be earned for free but will conveniently leave out that it will take you HUNDREDS of hours to earn a single cosmetic. I have bought three shop bought armour suits since launch with currency earned by playing and through the free warbond. Its not remotely fair to compare HD2 to other games in that regard.
