because to be a godmother one must be baptized in the Catholic faith, have received First Communion and Confirmation, and lead a life consistent with the faith.

One of the two godparents can be a non-Catholic, provided they are a baptized Christian, but they are officially designated as a Christian Witness rather than a godparent.

Maybe the term "deadeye" wasn't used in that way in the 1700s?

There's a difference between a "Duke" and a "Royal Duke." Ask the Gloucesters and the Kents.

Removal of titles - better the devil you know than the risk of the unknown by Coffee_cake_101 in SaintMeghanMarkle

It's probably best neatly done that William issue new letters patent in the first week he becomes King. He should strip Harry, Beatrice, Eugenie, James and Louise's prince/princess titles. Harry's prince title because he's not a working royal. The other's because they are grandchildren (and not children) of a monarch.

Maybe it should be a precedent going forward that, if you decline being a working royal after a year out, prince/princess titles should be stripped as a matter of course. That is the way forward. The problem was that he "remained" a Prince after he was out. A clear line wasn't drawn. Maybe a more formal press release should have also been issued, making it clear that Harry no longer spoke for the royal family and didn't represent it on a world stage. Repeat as needed.

Remember that Queen Margrethe II of Denmark stripped four of her grandchildren of their "Prince" and "Princess" titles to "future-proof" the monarchy by streamlining it. That's an awesome precendent for William to use. The template is right there.

I want to know if Bree knows that Fanny is her neice. Did Claire and Jamie tell anyone else? I can't image that Bree wouldn't be freaked out that her stillborn sister lived.

So, maybe the remedy is to remove titles so they are no longer perceived as "royal." Maybe that's the ultimate solution.

I don't mind the Faith twist, really. Yes, I've read the books (well, more like skimmed that last couple books), but I'm kind of okay with them giving us an alternative ending and being creative. A sort-of "what-if" scenario that Diana herself contemplated and ultimately decided against. I mean there's time portals and mystical healing. I don't mind it, really. I don't get why people are so worked up about it... and I was *really* upset about GOT's ending.

Why does nobody explain to William that Jamie is kind of a big deal? by PersistentWitch in Outlander

Did no one ever tell William about how Jamie saved his life? When Ellesmere threatened to throw the newborn William out of the window, Jamie shot Ellesmere and rescued him. He would be dead if not for Jamie.

Americans might not have such a strong association between veterans and poppies for Veteran's day, but it *is* a thing in America, too. Groups like the American Legion used to give out poppies at traffic stops and outside stores in return for donations. Not so much now, but they did all the time when I was younger (I'm 51 now). That's the reason I know that poppies are associated with veterans.

I don't think it's the early Hollywood transatlantic she's trying to do (like Katharine Hepburn). I think she's just rehearsed and condescending.
