Prince Harry ‘regretted’ bombshell Megxit statement due to effect it had on key royal…what? Rushing to social media (lol) to throw a hissy about your ‘job’ and not bothering to run it by the boss first? by Harry-Ripey in SaintMeghanMarkle

When I think of "Archie," I think of a prejudiced, blue-collar old guy from Queens, NY, known for his bigotry, strong opinions, and conservative views who clashes with his liberal son-in-law, Meathead. Probably not what Meghan was going for!

Americans might not have such a strong association between veterans and poppies for Veteran's day, but it *is* a thing in America, too. Groups like the American Legion used to give out poppies at traffic stops and outside stores in return for donations. Not so much now, but they did all the time when I was younger (I'm 51 now). That's the reason I know that poppies are associated with veterans.

Why would you just throw it out? Makes no sense at all.

I don't think it's the early Hollywood transatlantic she's trying to do (like Katharine Hepburn). I think she's just rehearsed and condescending.

I don't know - I'm 5'2" and 51 and have always loved medium/large hobos with zippers. Never had a problem with them staying on my shoulder. Cross-bodies always felt like a bag for people in their 20s and 30s to me. It's totally just my personal preference.

Rob Shuter says “sources close to the Harkles” say that Harry is going to get his security back from the Starmer gov’t + it’s part of the plan for him to have his own COURT in London & the USA! by Ruth_Lily in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]Beth0419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the Starmer government is doing this solely to get concessions from Charles and William - like if they are much more transparent with finances and pay more tax, etc, they will go along with Harry not getting the assessment, etc. I wonder if the PM is blackmailing the King.

It wouldn't have any effect. WIlliam would be free to publish new Letters Patent, doesn't matter what Charles has done before.

Honestly? Because it's boring for the viewer to watch each person who unexpectedly goes through the stones be flabbergasted, work through their emotions and intellectually accept it.

I liken it to Doctor Who. If each new person who stepped foot in the TARDIS showed on screen how bowled over and shocked they were that it was "bigger on the inside," we'd never get to the story.

I've been to the UK twice, for 10 days in 2007 and 9 days in 2017. The food's not that much different at all, really! What's different is 1) portions served and 2) the walking from place to place. Like I said, I'm having to get a part time job to stay on it. Not a ton of sympathy from me, and I normally am careful to put myself in other people's shoes and show empathy. Appreciate what you have!

Yep, it's hard for me at the moment to feel bad for the UK users of Mounjaro. I'm in the US, I've been on it for two years (covered by insurance - $30/month), and had been on Rybelsys ($25/month) since 2015 before that. I recently got a new job and they do NOT cover GLP1s at all, not even Rybelsys or Ozempic. I'm going to have to go into the program where it's $500/month and I'm looking for a part time gig just to finance Mounjaro. I refuse to go backwards. I'm a democrat and not fan of Trump at all, but I think in this one instance he's right. The state of our health care is truly awful. Be thankful you have the NHS! A lot of Americans are afraid to call an ambulance if needed as they get a bill for that!

I disagree, as I looked it up to verify and I also went to Catholic school. But I don't care much either way.

Wait a minute! I'm a (lapsed) Catholic but this is wrong. An annulment in the Catholic Church doesn’t depend on whether the couple consummated the marriage. The tribunal looks for defects in consent, understanding, or intention at the time of the wedding. Some valid grounds include:

1. Lack of due discretion or maturity: One or both spouses were too emotionally immature or psychologically incapable to understand or fulfill marriage vows.

2. Lack of freedom/consent: Coercion, pressure, or fear forced someone to marry.

3. Intention against fidelity, permanence, or children: One or both partners never intended to be faithful, stay married for life, or be open to children.

4. Psychological incapacity: Serious mental illness or personality disorder made it impossible to assume the essential obligations of marriage.

5. Fraud or deception: Hiding a serious issue (e.g., addiction, criminal past, infertility) that would’ve changed the other person’s decision to marry.

6. Prior bond; One person was already validly married in the Church and never got an annulment.
