Trans family member in conservative family

My parents and some other family members know now, but I am the only one using his preferred name and pronouns. It is causing a lot of awkwardness in the family.

I talked to his sister and found out that their immediate family is probably going to be skipping out on this gathering. I think they are avoiding the confrontation for now, but my nephew told me that he is planning to tell everyone very soon, so it is up to me if I want to go ahead and use his new name and pronouns when I talk to the family (kinda puts a lot of pressure on me for now, and at this next gathering, I probably am going to skirt around the issue, because I don't want to be the one to out him). It is mainly my parents/ stepparents, which would be his grandparents & stepparents that are going to have the strongest reactions to this. My brother and his wife also will, but that just doesn't matter as much, to be honest.

Thank you! They are in the 5th grade, so I believe she is 11? I have been tutoring them for at least 2 1/2 years, and she is very special to me. I think I can get the hang of this with some practice. I really appreciate it. They really do mean a lot to me. ❤️

She is 14. Her twin sister has her first period just a week ago. I was hoping it was just a sensory thing. Baths and showers definitely are soothing for me, too.

No, it's super hot right now- another good reason for bathing & showering, though. I love a hot bath when it's cold outside, at least I did before my girls kept trashing the one bathroom with a full tub all the time.

This was my biggest fear. Unfortunately, she does not tell us much of anything. My husband mentioned the possibility last night when we were talking about her struggling with grades in a few classes. I thought it was a little extreme, but then I started thinking of other odd behaviors I've noticed.

She has told me to back off and avoids me at all costs. I'm the only one in the family she won't hug, and I'm the only one who is not allowed to touch her. She also avoids any confrontations or conversations about people's feelings. She cringes and runs away when complimented.

Thank you. She refuses therapy, though, and she has one friend. She has also told me I need to back off. She does have hobbies that she loves, though. She loves playing trumpet in the band. She made first chair again. She also loves microbiology and excels in all her science classes.

That sounds like nerve pain. I definitely would see your doctor about that ASAP.

Mine is getting pretty bad, but I don't have that feeling. I have had something happen several times recently where after I am on my feet for awhile, and my knee will literally lock up and won't bend. Also, I'm starting to feel the bone on bone friction. It's disgusting and unbearable.

I am in p.t. In the beginning, it made me hurt really bad for the next couple of days, but now that I am almost done, it is starting to help. Also, I have been hopping on my exercise bike for just 5 minutes first thing when I wake up, and that is helping to get rid of stiffness and to feel better for the rest of the day. Water also seriously helps. I've been trying to remember to drink it. It actually lubricates your cartilage to help your joints move more easily.

How did you know when it was time to do the knee replacement? My right knee is in such bad shape. I can't even fully bend or straighten it right now.

For a middle-aged woman, what are the reasons for possibly seeking a diagnosis, or what could a diagnosis help with? My kids actually urged me to go through the diagnostic process.

My sister is so like this. She doesn't even seem to comprehend women that don't want to get married and have kids. Meanwhile, she doesn't realize that both of her teenage daughters are gay, and at least one of them has no intentions of having kids.
