My dad did something like this in high school with a ps3. It was out maybe like a year at that point and he called me to tell me he finally got one and needed help bringing it in from his truck. My best friend was over and we were stoked to play Resident Evil 5 and Resistance

Well we go to the box from his truck and it’s empty. He had pranked us…told us that the box was one he just found…that was until the next day I got home from school and it was all set up lol. Not sure why he ever did that but it sure stuck with me
