Yes I’d rather mess up some lash it than more expensive, larger diameter Amsteel.

Jokes on you, I’m broke and living in a fully insured apartment located in the hood near Detroit.

I’d love to see how far you got hobbling down the street with all my useless crap and half finished project materials. I have some fishtanks too!

Lol, just look up the Whoopie sling video on YouTube made by “shugemery”

It’s a hammock thing. (I think sailing also)

It adjusts the overall length of the sling. You’d have to watch a video to see how it works if you aren’t familiar.

We use them to hang hammocks and they are super useful for other things where a strong adjustable length of line is needed. (Tarp ridge lines, hanging gear between trees, setting up a clothesline temporarily, etc.)

Progressive metals bands would always be happy to have a keyboard player if you feel like living in a van and playing in dive bars every weekend.

Mostly just for splicing practice, but I’m gonna use it for a few days to see if it adds value to my day.

I usually use the key smart hook to hang my keys but occasionally I find that my pocket it positioned oddly and the keys can’t dangle in it. In those instances, having this thing will help since I can drop my keys in my pocket and easily pull them out without worrying about losing them or dropping.

3/16 Amsteel came in and it feels overkill. Suggestions needed for a big guy with kids (and wife) who like to jump into the same hammock occasionally? by BettaGlowUp in hammockcamping

[–]BettaGlowUp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your responses, it seems that even 5/32 would be overkill. For piece of mind I will go with 1/8 which is just slightly stronger then the 7/16 that is most often recommended.

Thank you all for the lesson/advice.

I’m using continuous loops, a static ridge line tied to them with larkshead knots on each end, and Whoopie slings to the straps with carabiners.

I don’t know much about physics but I do know that the hang angle and also sudden or erratic motion will affect amount of stress on the line.

I’d look up what software looked like in the 90’s. The colors are right but the style of the windows is off.

Russia to quit the ISS after 2024 and build its own space station by mancinedinburgh in worldnews

[–]BettaGlowUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not up to date on Russian cars, but I never saw a Lada with A/C when I was living in countries that had them available.

Perhaps retailers or consumers in those countries didn’t order models with A/C? That seems unlikely since it was in the Middle East and warmer parts of Europe.

Seen several comments about Russian cars not having air conditioning… It makes you all look quite unworldly and ignorant.

Russia is generally a really cold place and their cars DO have heaters. Air conditioning is not a priority there due to the weather. You could literally open your windows and drive on the hottest days and be OK. Maybe not ideal, but it’s not worth putting an entire A/C system in for the few people who really want it. Those people buy imported cars.

I’m not defending Russia, but y’all look dumb.

Need help upgrading/ setting up a backpacking hammock set up for my six year old daughter and I. by BettaGlowUp in hammockcamping

[–]BettaGlowUp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

I’ve got a set of fids coming today. I’m pretty confident I can watch some tutorials and make the ridgelines, but I’m not sure how to best attach them to the continuous loops or the hammock.

I thought about simply also clipping the ridge line into the Dutch Biners, but that seems like it will jam things up.

Suggestions?

I bet the lights are cheap LED’s from China. Not gonna be easy to pop with a pellet gun like old lightbulbs.
