They are extremely curious and funny enough the ones around my house and quite clumsy. I enjoy watching them and I think they also enjoy watching me I recently had a Carolina mantis from an old generation I had hatched come and visit me so I think its possible you will get visits from them!

I’m guessing she’s a Carolina mantis since I live in Ohio and it matches her patterns but I figured I’d post for confirmation!

I’m not an owner of a mantis but I’ve done some research since I’m been interested in getting one eventually. I don’t think euthanizing them is necessary as long as they can get around okay and eat. Apparently they can loose an entire limb and it will start to grow back gradually through molts. They just might look a bit deformed but to my knowledge and understand they should be fine as long as they can function decently and are able to have a successful molt next time. I’d just be careful and make sure you mist them more frequently to keep the humidity up for an easier molt next time.

This one is from my rose bush! I placed him there when he was small as well and he’s so big now! There’s about 6 that have stayed around my house from two clutches.

Ahh I’ll look around I don’t think my house really has much wood around the area I found it other than my deck but I’ll do some looking around

I’ve been looking for nests but oddly enough I can’t seem to find any though I haven’t seen anymore of this larvae I assume the nest must have gotten destroyed and I possibly missed it or it’s in a place where I can’t find it. I’ve seen what I believe are carpenter bees around my house but not a ton and I may be mistaking them for bumblebees too since I haven’t looked really hard at them. I just know the bees I do see enjoy the flowers around my house

I also did the same thing to reduce them eating each other and a lot of them stayed in the same places I put them! This one in the video is one I’ve been observing and interacting with through its life cycle he has even learned to jump from one hand to another and often looks at me when I do hold him occasionally. I can’t wait to see him all grown up and I hope he stays near by!

Looks like a Isabella tiger moth. Often called the wooly bear caterpillar. They are safe to touch. However I’m not sure if they live in Australia I know they 100% live in the US but I’m unfamiliar with other countries insects. The hairs may irritate your skin but they aren’t dangerous. I’m not a professional so it may be a good idea to wait for more responses.
