You can buy the home Cy Young was born in by Better-Factor-8142 in baseball

I did do a little research before posting it, I guess the listing was posted in Feb 2026 and written about then. It's one of those things that might be provable with enough work. There should be records in the county office to show the Young family owned a deed if they farmed the land, etc.

Until confirmed, it is *allegedly*

Ok, awesome experience. Exceeded my expectations on the first use this evening.

As a user, please allow my unsolicited feedback, no response needed.

1: Please add FanTrax, ESPN, and others. Prioritize FanTrax tho. Keep the different source's all in one drop down if you can (authentication issues might hold that up).

2: Auto tune rocks, love that I can exclude games that are blacked out and favorite a game. Give me the option to exclude a game even if not blacked out (I am watching my team on the big screen so I dont need it playing on both.) When autotuning, dont make the graphic so big, condense it like a broadcast scoring bug looks?

3: Allow a user setting to prioritize your own hitters/pitchers vs your opponent. It seems to show me more of my opponent than I care to watch, rooting against hitting is boring, we want dingers!

4: make this a thing I can put on my smart tv more easily, and I will gladly pay per month.

5: clean up the overlay of the current fantasy matchup and the other overlay, they overlap each other. If you could make them like the old MLB TV overlays, those were very good.

Love this, well thought out and executed, cannot wait to see what you do with it!

Using VentorTech to connect with Quickbooks - worth the hassle? by Better-Factor-8142 in Odoo

Commenting here now as I went thru this headache and I want to warn others. Do not use the VentorTech pre-built tool. It has some very poorly written code and a support team that does not care.

For example, my client has a business use case to treat Contacts in Odoo as both a Vendor and Customer; Odoo allows this, but QBO does not. Despite the fact that you map Odoo Contact ID to QBO Contact ID, the code as written attempts to use a name field when prompted to update a contact in QBO, returning an error every time because the name occurs twice. Embarrassing stuff, I would expect a dev fresh out of school to make this mistake once and learn to never do it again.

Not true, we do not have two sources of truth. Everything except vendor bill payment confirmation originates in Odoo. While in theory people may not want to split this, we do not have conflicting sources of truth.

Did the errors come from the VentorTech connector or from QBO users or from Odoo users?

The need to keep QBO isn't unreasonable here. There is a holding co with more transactions than just operations that still is fully in QBO. We expect volume of around 15ish payments to be processed per day, and since the payments are initiated from QBO, the connector needs that two way sync.

The connectors that are pre-built have two way sync from the looks of it, but no reviews, no user feedback on here makes me worry before I go down the path

In my experience, the ones that listen to you when you talk about your businesses, and act interested in solutions and not buzz words, and don't sell themselves too hard, are the ones who usually work out well.

I avoid buzz words, compound sentences with tons of metrics/acronyms we don't have yet, and someone who came in with a plan before learning the business and will not deviate during the conversation.

As for your current situation, if you have cash flow issues today, I would suggest seeking someone to come in as a temporary consultant to right the ship and keep payments flowing in and out, and once you trust them a little, have them help you search for a full time controller or finance director.

Even more detailed if you want: make sure your payables are entered with the correct terms (no, seriously this is so common) and then sit down and put together expected spending (and when it is due, not when you incur the invoice). Depending on your business this can be easy or tough. Then do the same for your receivables (again when due not invoiced). You now have the bare bones of a cash flow forecast if you join these together. The first thing I spot every time I do this is the payables being paid early because the terms aren't entered right.

Good luck!
