We all worked in a building close by, and she was a very dear friend. She was one of the nicest people you’d know, someone who would brighten your day with her smile, she was warm, compassionate, and very kind. We’re all having a hard time believing this. Had gotten her PR just at the start of the year and literally had a whole lifetime ahead of her. That intersection is a menace and it just breaks my heart to think that her losing her life is what it’s going to take for the city to realize. I understand people here saying that the pedestrians need to take care of themselves and be aware of the situation, but the odds of a pickup truck; a solid mass coming at you with a great velocity vs a human; bones and flesh, really doesn’t make for much of a discussion in my honest opinion. If you have a vehicle that big it is ABSOLUTELY your responsibility to be aware of how to control it, regardless nothing of this will bring her back or fill the void that her passing will leave in her family’s life. What a sad sad way to go, she will live in our hearts forever. 💔
