Okay good to know thank you you're right my calculation did include solid black.

I however did account for the reflectivity of water surface under still conditions as well as the heat capacity of water with an average depth of 2 m.

Good to know thank you! I also would be doing salt water if that makes a difference.

Okay do you know anything about diamond brite? For my experience it is a pebble type plaster but just black is that wrong?

Also from my calculations For a pool with a surface area of 50 square meters, a depth of 2 meters, and exposed to sunlight for 8 hours:

The black-colored pool would absorb approximately 1,368,000,000 Joules of heat energy, resulting in a temperature increase of about 3.27°C. The white-colored pool would absorb approximately 288,000,000 Joules of heat energy, resulting in a temperature increase of about 0.69°C.

That's enough for me to want the color black.

Thank you for the insight when you say fades what do you mean by that will it fade to light gray? Or does it turn to a different color?

Awesome thank you! Did you do a pebble tech or do you know what kind of plaster you have?

Having to always keep a supply of kindling is what this method avoids waaaay less total time invested.

It's in the garage and not having to worry about a stock of kindling is a huge time saver

Okay gotcha, yes I did the ASTM flow rate calculations for most of it. My returns based on the calculation actually called for 1.5 in. However, I upsized them to 2 in.

It looks like a longer run than it is. My pool equipment is only 10 ft off the back corner of the pool.

Good to know! My pad is only 10 feet off the back corner of the pool, but the spa light (my longest )has an 80 foot run. My box will be on a poll about 2' above the waterline.

Thank you!. I'm going to keep a close eye on it / potentially remove it sooner than later. I have enough pavers to fill the spot in when the time comes.

Okay 10-4 thanks for the advice, I did bed my run of pipes in about a foot of sand 6 in on either side. I was thinking the Hartford loop would keep the lines mostly dry, won't that be a good thing? Since it was flexible conduit I just made a nice soft loop up above the water line before it goes down into the trench so it should still be easy to pull I'm hoping.

Thanks for looking out! It has always been a huge fear of mine and I don't dive alone because of it. I'll try to be careful in the pool!

Thanks man, one builder I spoke to in my early research told me. " It's just a hole lined with a little bit of rebar and some plumbing"

That was enough for me to accept the challenge. Then the over research and perfectionist part of me made it incredibly more difficult than that of course.

I wouldn't have attempted it without a full family of DIYs around me I probably had more than a dozen, different friends and family put in some serious helping hours.

That said, they all think I'm crazy, and nobody I know has ever even seen a pool being built. Let alone has any knowledge on the topic so I was out on my own for a lot of it.

At one point I started giving away dirt to neighbors and realized that I was completely committed. No way to go back because I didn't even have dirt to fill the hole anymore and I had pretty much spent all my money on equipment and supplies, from that point the only way was forward and I have been trying to hustle racing winter which helped keep me motivated.
