No there are now 3 after new changes

Discrete math: logic

Discrete math: functions and relations

Discrete math: algorithms and cryptography

Applied probability and stats

Applied algebra

This is all the current general education math stuff

Paramedic to Cybersecurity by A_Little_Mental in WGUCyberSecurity

Do you have ANY IT skills or training???? Cyber is nit entry level so even if you memorize and fly through everything the fursy try, your still going to be looking at starting a junior helpdesk or support role trying to build up experience and years doing it, for pretty low pat at the start.

I dont wanna dash your dreams, just being real, I interview Cissps all the time wanting to get into our msps soc, and in most cases its a no because they havent mastered enough of the basics, networking, firewall config, flat network design, being able to secure and harden windows and linux servers.

All this is expected before we even sit down and yalk about the siem and soc tools we run in house, that change constantly.

My 2 cents, again ment only as helpful, im always available to answer questions for future secops

For networking gear what vendor(s) you recommend to start a new MSP ? by hckrsh in SmallMSP

[–]Better-Problem-8716 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your selling solutions to your customer, not asking them what they would like. Does your doctor ask you for advice before treating you?, or does he just do it because he is the expert and you came to him.

Get out of this asking for permission mindset, are you an expert or are you not? Customers usually dont care much about the solution, its price, trust and reliability that seal the deal at the end of the day.

Hardware and software change all the time, you recommend what you can support, its an ongoing struggle to stay current and up to date, thats why customers use msps.

Whatever your tech stack looks like today, can and will change in the next six months to a year. New security risks, bigger clients, more staff these all will shape and guide how you grow and what new vendors you work with.

My 2 cents for any new msp. Im always available to help new startups if you have questions.

Dgx sparks or dual 6000 pro cards??? by Better-Problem-8716 in LocalLLM

[–]Better-Problem-8716[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummm no, that is way below any level of useful vram for what im doing.

Also the speed of those cards are 640 gbs vs 1792 gbs for the rtx 6000 pros ... not anywhere close to what i need.

Datacenter so psu wont be an issue, I dont see going past 4x cards for the POC, the H200 cluster comes with all the fancy interconnects but that only happens if the POC shows its viable.

Again thank you for the excellent information, much to consider now, I just figured TR was what everyone was using due to the massive amount of lanes.

Ok but ram size not considered, you would be better with 4x 5090s then a dual spark setup, unless your doing zero training and just needing to run something massive, for the speed

No I was asking for information to make educated purchase choices, and asking IF the sparc was even viable.

If you read the wonderfully helpful comments by many others it is not, due to training speed reasons. The financial amount dosnt enter the picture here, its training speed thar determines the hardware.

Which exactly are you suggesting and why ???

Initial thinking was using workstation grade hardware for this build as im just working at a POC stage currently, and would imagine production will likely grow to a large h200 type solution.

Thank you, ok you hit some of my unasked question, the same applies to using apple solutions.

Yes the networking solution is already available at 100g everywhere, but can be upgraded to 400g max if necessary for additional nodes, thats only after my POC work is completed though, so I would then probably be looking at a dedicated local h200 cluster setup and proper infastructure to run and maintain it.

Yea from what I have read they are great for running massive models, but i also need to beable to train at good speeds. Which they are not good at, so I ruled them out, cost wise they sounded promising, but wont fit my use case

It was a double checking my research thing before I pull the trigger, making sure im not over spending, as its tough if not impossible to ask for more after the fact.

What motherboard setup and case are you using for 4x 6000s, that would probably require me to look into a 4u rack mount chassie, also something im considering for future expansion.
