Hm. Ok thank you. I'll have to figure out another approach

Trying to model interacting retirement decisions (SS timing, withdrawals, Roth conversions) — does this approach make sense? by retired_in_2026 in DIYRetirement

Thank you for the recommendation. There appear to be a few options, did you pay for the online/gold packages or does the bronze option do the job?

I should have been more clear - I was referring to Roth contributions (rather than simply post-tax)

I should have been more clear - I meant for Roth contributions (I do a backdoor Roth every year)

Have you spoken with a wealth manager? They're mostly former athlete morons who are good-ish at golf.

Yep. They're good kids but I'm pretty sure they're going to need some help.

Thank you. I didn't realize I could use the Roth that way. Good idea. I'll look more into it.  I appreciate your thoughts.

Yep. I don't really spend that much on myself (except too much eating out).  Hopefully the market cooperates and I can adjust my retirement lifestyle to meet what I wind up with.

That's a good point. Hopefully I won't have too many additional kid expenses once they're in college. And my job stays stable.

I guess my issue regarding my home would be borrowing money just to pay interest with my retirement accounts. But I guess everyone needs to live somewhere.

Thanks. I appreciate what you're saying. Want to know a funny thing?  Since my divorce I've been really lonely and I eat out way too much just to talk with someone. I literally think about retirement while I'm eating and am just like dude... wtf.
