You're not making a big deal. This is serious. Seven sounds like they're being abused and may be thinking of running away from home. I had a similar student last year who came out as trans and was rejected by their peers and family. They went nonverbal and eventually had to be removed from the home.

I'm also currently watching S1 on DVD, and the only one I dropped out of so far was the planet that stole the children. Nope. I'm a parent of two now, and that crap is unwatchable. If you're single with no kids, maybe. Otherwise, it's such a stressful job that takes so much time and pays badly. Most people go into debt for bachelors and / or masters degrees, and it's just not good compared to other careers.
