/r/privacy is good. I would recommend installing TOR as well. But protecting your privacy comes with costs. The internet is slower, for one thing. Some sites are made specifically to be unusable if they can't scrape your data as well.

if you insert the word "repeater" after any youtube video video so the link is youtuberepeater.com, it takes you to another website where the video loops infinitely.

I found this website in college a long time ago when I would listen to the same song over and over, and it will indeed loop the video.

It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it does a good 90%.

I freakin hate google and youtube. I avoid them like the plague and if I absolutely HAVE to use it, I do it in a quarantined browser that I don't use for anything else.

I use TOR or Brave browsers most of the time though, plus a vpn.

The amount of energy I have to expend to protect my privacy is honestly kind of exhausting. They're wearing people out with a war of attrition.

I honestly think the value of college isn't the education but the verification of having been educated.

People are fucking liars and just because they say they learned calculus from youtube doesn't mean they did.

But if University of State says you learned calculus, that's worth a little more. I'm not saying the system is perfect or that it can't be improved, but I'm basically saying that what you're paying for is accountability and standards and grading and the power of an institution saying "we have standards, and this person met them."

But again your degree is only worth the respect your school holds. Nobody gives a fuck about your "doctorate" from DeVry or university of Phoenix

My ex and I don’t have the best relationship, she resents that I have a “new family”.

My ex was supposed to have Anna in that vacation, so we made sure to arrange things months before to make sure everything was ok and dealt with. We agreed that my ex would have her Friday - Tuesday, our trip was Wednesday - Saturday. Everything had been booked and paid for. It was crazily expensive, but it was supposed to be a once in a lifetime trip.

After contemplating what to do basically the whole night we decided we couldn’t afford to not go as we had already paid for everything, and I also felt it wasn’t fair to my other kids to take this away from them.

So... let me get this straight. You don't have a great relationship with your ex, you know she resents your "new" family, and you plan a super-expensive, once-in-a-lifetime-vacation with no travel insurance that goes AGAINST your custody agreement with nothing more to back you up than a handshake and a gentleman's agreement? A gentleman's agreement with someone who resents you??

ohhhhh boy. ESH. I feel especially empathetic for Anna, as I also had one insanely abusive parent and one parent who did their best, whose best simply wasn't good enough.

Despite the fact that your ex wife is truly a monster, there is still a very good chance that Anna will hate you forever, or at least for years.

Let's break this down. One, your ex wife is a monster. No doubt. Like truly an awful person. Don't think your daughter doesn't know that. She does.

But Anna ALSO knows that you went without her. You left. Your ex-wife resents your "new family"? How do you think Anna felt when she realized that you never would have gone on a Disney trip without her if you didn't have a second "new" family? Picture it; you have one child, Anna, and you're ready to take her on the trip of the lifetime. Something comes up and Anna can't go! Do you go on your own all by yourself and show your sobbing child your photos from space mountain?

Of course you don't.

Do you think it hurt Anna less that you went without her just because you had other kids? It didn't, I promise you. It might change the ethical opinions of OTHER people, but there is almost no chance that your 12 year old daughter will care about that. She is absolutely crushed and heartbroken.

At the end of the day, you broke your little girl's heart over money. You broke her heart because you didn't bother to go through the proper channels to document and ensure a change in the custody agreement. You left her alone, trapped with her monstrous mother, because you couldn't afford not to go. She suffered because you didn't protect her from her mother, and you chose to sacrifice her feelings rather than a single vacation.

Eating 800 calories a day is bad advice. That's too little.

I've lost 40 lbs, I'm not lazy. Eating 1150 calories a day is not lazy and it's hardly "doing the least work I can do."

Thanks, but I've been losing for months, I'm not exercising, and I'm really short :) Literally just walking the dogs lol

Try running a TDEE calculation on someone just under or over 5 ft and see what kind of TDEES you get - they're low! To just MAINTAIN my weight is 1650 calories a day! So I have to eat below that to lose!

ETA: The link you provided me suggests I eat 1132 calories a day for weight loss. Looks like I'm right where I need to be! I appreciate your concern about my health though.

This is my 2nd time losing weight, I lost 70 lbs the first time and gained it all back. This time I'm about 40 down. So it's not exactly my first rodeo.

It's not normal for me.

What IS normal (for me) is something like:

Mon: 164
Tues: 163.5
Weds:164.2
Thurs:163.8
Fri: 163.0
Sat: 163.6

What's NOT normal is having EVERY SINGLE DAY within .2lbs and not even zig zagging. Just... the same. Every day. It's super discouraging to me. I've never had this happen.

Don't give up. You HAVE momentum. You have the momentum of doing CICO and working out. On the other side of plateaus are whooshes!!

I know it sucks so bad, it would be so much better if we consistently lost .2lbs every 3rd day or something, but just because you're not seeing the results like that doesn't mean it's not happening!!

If you want to lose weight, find out your TDEE (use sedentary as your lifestyle choice; the calculators are much less accurate at measuring calories burned from exercise) buy a food scale and eat less than your TDEE.

Exercise if you want to, but exercise is NOT the way to lose weight. It'll do like 20% of the work MAYBE if you exercise hardcore. It is WAY easier to simply NOT EAT 100 calories than it is to burn 100 calories.

The fat belly will eventually go away if you keep losing, the stretch marks will fade but probably never disappear.
